  1. On that error, DJ said he fielded it flat-footed, which could also be indicative of back pain. Have they ever said why he gets back pain? Recurring nature kinda points to something structural.
  2. We’ve scored 4. If the score holds, Kay is the culprit. Awful, awful outing.
  3. Clearly, we’re all mostly focused on Noah, Mune, and Teel coming back. Buttt…. if Shane Smith gets back to form and Hagen keeps it up, we could plug 2 SP slots. You get Tanner back healthy, he and his velocity could fit in perfectly in the pen as a bridge to Taylor. The pieces are in place on the 40-man to possibly supplement this team greatly.
  4. We’ve got a closer, we need an elite setup man who can go 2 if needed.
  5. That experiment needs to die.
  6. That shouldn’t even be considered an option. You watch the interactions on this team, Chase is 100% the glue guy on this squad.
  7. I have no doubt the org has been establishing a list of low cost, high upside pitchers for the last month who they believe will benefit from our pitching development and contribute quickly. I don’t expect anything fancy or big. In fact, I worry that sort of deal, bringing in a big name, could upset this team’s “why not us” mission. A very underwhelming move or two will be made, Soxtalk will erupt in frustration, and the 2-3 pitchers they get will be strong contributors by mid-August.
  8. Out in Denver on business and was at the game tonight. Left bottom of the 7th so regrettably didn’t get to see the walkoff. I did still get a small win, though. Got back to the hotel and got on the elevator with a family of Cub fans. I accidentally dropped my key card when trying to unlock the elevator for my floor. With elite wit and a perfect delivery, I let them know “I fumbled that like the I’m the Cubs”. Ok, the wit wasnt great and the delivery was probably a bit rushed, but the point was made. After admitting I’m a Sox fan, the mom let me know how frustrated she was the Sox have a better record “even without that Japanese guy”. We’re living in good times, boyz.
  9. Not the only thing this roster he’s put together has been erecting lately.
  10. They’re hot. Pitching hasn’t been great but the majority of their lineup is starting to click. CLE loses, no damage.
  11. Are they telling the OFs to throw home? It happens way too often. That was a sweet DP. Funny seeing Bohm looking back wondering wtf happened lol
  12. Or he has Paulie-esque speed, which I find hard to believe.
  13. Listened to Chuck’s podcast the other day with Emerson’s HS coach. I couldn’t help but notice he kinda hedged/talked around his power. “He’d rather be a hitter” is not what i want to hear about a possible 1-1 pick. Not a fan of the Madrigal/Vaughn/Carlson style hitter who puts contact above power.
  14. Pretty sure it’s exactly what you think it looks like. They also seem to do the boob flash…looks like flexing muscles but, can’t remember who it was, but it was some hitters first games and they were more intentional about the motion, clearly pulling a shirt up.
  15. Sexy win. 2-3 on the trip. Let’s pull it to even tomorrow.
  16. Christ that kid looks like he’s just toying with hitters these days. That’s damn near unhittable stuff. Great dub
  17. Am i blind or does neither the MLB app, nor Yahoo Sorts, show challenge counts? Frustrating.
  18. Kinda shocked he’s back out for this inning
  19. That last look made it look like it was all foot instead of bag.
  20. kinda surprised Sosa was so frozen by that hook. Great call and execution. Will needs to get better at sensing when a pitcher has lost it. Always seems to be a batter or two too late.
  21. Dude….he doesn’t have it tonight. It’s a regression to the mean of his career. The outlier was May.
  22. F’n bum. Confidence sapped way too easily. Body language is telling the hitters he’s going to groove pitches
