  1. My wife does it, she insists...
  2. So, has anyone heard of or been to Genghis Grill?
  3. I don't do Netflix, I'm not related to the Norris Injury Law firm and I don't f***ing care about Ron G-D Paul.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 05:20 PM) Who is Chris Robbins? Chris O'Donnell, still my point stands. I think the Batman movies muddied my memory.

Johnny Galecki gives me the creeps. That's reason enough for me. And then he gets to nail a hot blonde, no thank you. Everything he's ever done is either creepy or awkward. You could easily remove him entirely from "Christmas Vacation" and it would be a better movie. And on "Roseanne," let's not get started on that subject. (shudders) The problem with CBS is they seem to intentionally find washed up actors to put in their shows. Every show has at least one. I mean, Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, seriously? Creepy Johnny Galecki had been successfully forgotten in Hollywood until his creepy a$$ was put on that show.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) The Big Bang Theory is atrocious. I would rather watch Human Centipede on repeat. At least that might make me laugh after awhile. Seconded.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 11:06 AM) Thanks for the head's up... definitely has some promise. I really, really, really want to see 'Contraband' due to my rather ridiculous enjoyment of anything Mark Wahlberg... and Giavanni Ribisi is always fun. Sadly, I can't seem to talk the wife into it. Huh?

I know I've stated it before, but definitely skim through the top 100 free books available on the Amazon Kindle store. You can usually find something interesting or even hokey fun amongst the religious books, romance novels, soft porn and general crap.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 12:29 AM) That's what I was thinking too. I've had a kindle for a little over a year now and I really like it. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 07:01 AM) Good point. I held off from buying a Kindle for a long time. I didn't think I'd like it. I like the feeling of a real book in my hands. But once I decided to buy one I wondered why it took me so long to do it. Convenient and immediate. Plus, I've found quite a few authors with books for less than $3 or even free. Now even libraries are starting to lend e-books. Amazon claims they sold 4 million Kindles last month alone. I am pleased with my decision to purchase one.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:36 AM) It is rather scary how alike some SoxTalk members are. I read 11/22/63, then looked for similar to it. Barnes and Noble recommended 'Ready Player One'. I am about 180 pages into it right now, and the sheer amount of 80's Pop Culture references are worth the read to me, alone. I'm enjoying it. Call us legion, for we are many.
  11. Another AAA level catcher signed, Damaso Espino. Also out of the Dodgers organization.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Is this year's book thread already longer than last year's? If so, bravo. E-Reader proliferation maybe?

GAHHH! The wife wanted to watch that Chelsea Handler show. Jesus Tebow F*** was it awful. I couldn't even enjoy Laura Prepon's fabulously curvy body. Plus, she just doesn't fit that character at all. It was bad...the horror...
  14. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) I was wondering when they would get that starting catcher for Charlotte. He can play LF as well!
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 03:41 PM) Really, no one made a "Music" thread yet? Music must suck these days. Perhaps an "At the Drive In" Reunion will help fix that. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) Both them and Refused are back and playing Coachella this year. That's insane... QUOTE (MEANS @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 08:03 AM) yeah great news about ATDI and TMV will have a new album out 3/27! Holy sh**! Too much awesome.

FYI...Amazon's Kindle store has lots of free books. Anything that came out before 1923 is free and I always skim through the top 100 free books.
  18. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) Lucy retired. Don't be surprised if he's hired soon to work for the organization.
  19. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) No, but that's because NO ONE DOES. Eat your words on 12/22.
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) White Castle is delicious when you're drunk, but I'm not sure it's worth the mind-blowingly terrible farts the next day. I would kill for some White Castle. The closest one is in Nashville. Krystal is not as good, they don't steam the whole thing, just the meat.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) He came off of TJ in 2010. I'd imagine that 12 is his make or break year. He had TJ surgery in 2008 and missed the entire year. He pitched in 2009 and 2010.
  22. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 02:16 AM) Looking over Birmingham's stats, he did have a pretty awful year, no surprise the Sox cut him. But I have to wonder, what are they thinking with Nevin Griffith? He averaged 8 BB/9 and walked more than he struck out. He was far worse. I know he's only 22, but still. Isn't that beyond helping at this point? He should've been in A ball last year.
  23. Justin Edwards just couldn't progress. He had a horrible year in 2011, but I wish him well. Good guy.

I got a Kindle for X-Mas, so I've loaded it up with books to read. I'm working on "Those Guys Have All The Fun" and have over a 100 more books ready to read.
  25. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 04:27 AM) BA updated their transactions, no real losses for the Sox with their latest round of releases: - RHP Jamaal Hollis - RHP Sam Phippen - Stephen Sauer - Justin Edwards - 2B Drew Lee They also signed 3B Corey Smith; career minor leaguer. Corey played for the Barons in 2006. He might play here again in 2012. He's spent most of his career at AA, he split time between AAA and AA for the Dodgers last year.
