QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 10:35 PM) FWIW, Direct tv says the deadline for hammering out a new agreement between them and Fox is Nov. 1st but the existing agreement runs through Dec. 31st so we (i have Direct tv as well) should have the channel for a bit longer. Direct tv vs. Fox Let's hope so. I can deal without the regional FSN channels, but losing FX would suck.

Anybody know a good place to watch full episodes of "The League" for free? Since DirecTV is probably suspending FX on Tuesday, I don't want to miss episodes. I assume that goes for those of you who like "Sons Of Anarchy" and "It's Always Sunny..." as well.

Just got caught up on The Walking Dead. Didn't watch it last year. DVR'd the season 1 marathon before the season 2 premiere. Good stuff. I have a theory about Dexter if anybody wants to hear it...
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) The only thing I see that is so offensive about that is that he suggests he's a middle reliever in a perfect world. In a perfect world, he improves his curveball and adds a couple MPH and becomes a force in the rotation. Realistically, he projects as more of a middle reliever. Seeing him succeed in the AFL is a good sign, so hopefully he continues to do that. I wouldn't project an innings eater like Terry as a middle reliever.
  6. Everybody's missing the big picture here...the White Sox are about to aqcuire a boatload of light hitting shortstop prospects from other organizations who project as utility men.
  7. This is the problem with "scouting gurus," they outright lie.
  8. Wrong, his fastball regularly sits at 92 and he hasn't even turned 26 yet.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 13, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) Donny Lucy elected free agency? Kind of surprised there, I don't see him getting much of a shot anywhere at a major league job, or even a decent minor league starting job. I guess he's decided he needs to take one last shot at things in another org. The Sox really like the guy by all accounts, he just can't hit major league pitching well enough to stick. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up coaching somewhere in the Sox system in a few years. Agreed, I've always thought that.
  10. Dallas McPherson also became a free agent.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 12:37 AM) I've had them once. Never again. Maybe I got a bad one, but it was like a soggy Oreo covered in even soggier breading. Yeah, that was overcooked. The Oreo should have a cake-like consistency and the breading should be soft and similar to funnel cake.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:46 PM) I already contacted a no-kill shelter. They basically said it'd be a long shot that they'd even take him. If I got him out, I'd probably just end up taking him to be put down anyway. At least have him checked out by a vet for quality of life. Worse case scenario, he's put to sleep in your presence, not coldly at a pound. Give the dog a dignified death. He deserves to have someone he knows there with him if that's the case. Eliminate the "what if..." Don't throw away a pet that's been part of your family for over a decade without at least some respect. And, if the vet says it's a lost cause, take him to the park, let him run around for a little bit and give him a nice treat. Just give him one last good day, you'll feel better for doing so.
  13. On a lighter note... I had fried Oreo's for the first time yesterday. Heaven. Magical.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) And do what with him? He's about 12. I seriously doubt he's getting adopted. And he may have also had a hernia, but that could have been just a reason to get rid of him. That dog deserves better, Milkman, you know it. You'll regret it if you don't do anything. Save it first, then figure out a long term solution.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) The hitting coaches are great ideas IMO. Laker has done great work with the young hitters that are now on the MLB roster. Crazy as he was a mediocre, light hitting back up catcher as a player.
  16. I say Hank 3 does the MNF open starting next year.
  17. So, we got Ventura as manager, Baines at 1st and Coop on pitchers. Everybody else is gone, correct?
  18. I'm curious to see how Ventura manages around being forced to play KW Jr. when he makes the 25 man roster in 2013.
  19. The Robin Ventura patio at Regions Park just got a lil' bit more spiffy.
  20. Character actor Charles Napier, 75.
  21. John Doyle may be able to elaborate more about Kloess.
