QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) Entering his age 31 season, Steve Finley had 47 career homeruns. He finished with 304. Not really a cautionary tale. How about dead Ken Caminiti?

Let's go for a Cubs/White Sox Southern League championship series.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) As somebody who has never seen either guy, I wonder this: Are Leesman and Shirek good enough to pitch in the Sox rotation in a couple of years? winning baseball? Leesman can be studly when his control is good. Shirek is probably best suited as a swingman/long reliever.

QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) Shirek brought his "A" game!! Game 5 tomorrow night!! Indeed, now we need Edwards to pitch his best game of the season tomorrow. Get the live chicken and Jobu ready.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Bauer has now given up 17 ER in his last 4 1/3 IP. Wow. SL > Pac-10

I'm just glad KW Jr. has been on the bench for 3 of the 4 games.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) He clearly has the potential to be a solid player...but Roy Halladay is a hall of fame pitcher. That, IMO, makes the comparison almost useless...because even 99% of the people with Roy Halladay's "Potential" don't wind up as hall of famers. I know, but I think he is capable of being that good. I'll stand by my comparison.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) Ok, as a person who hated the Hudson trade...that's pushing it. A lot. I think he has that potential, he has to live up to it of course over a long period of time. I'm still concerned that Hudson may have elbow issues in the near future.
-
Balls. Shirek better have his A game tomorrow.
-
QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) I would hope they wouldn't ask Threw 113 pitches, needs 113 hours off. If they asked, he would only be effective for an inning or two. He has AFL in 3 weeks. So, I take it the whole rotation is going to be used.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) We'll need about two dozen more of those before the immovable stench of the Hudson/Jackson trade is disposed of. It doesn't help that Hudson is looking more and more like a young Halladay everyday.

I think Santiago is gassed. His fastball was only topping out at 95, although he was generating a lot of ugly swings with his offspeed stuff. But when he was up in the zone, Mobile tattooed it. Parker hit 102 at one point with his fastball.

QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) Thanks John. Would Terry go again in game 4 or 5 or is he done until the next round if the Barons make it? I honestly wouldn't be comfortable with Shirek and Edwards pitching in 4 and 5.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 12:49 AM) Barons lost game 2 7-5 Series tied at 1 Santiago shelled Voyagers won 8-3 Voyagers lead 1-0 in the best of 3 Smith back Hector was low in the zone the whole time. Plus, Mobile was making solid contact on him from the start. It also didn't help that Mobile has a 36 year old 10 year Major League veteran in Daryle Ward on the team hitting third. He smoked two pitches from Santiago to the opposite field. Jarrod Parker was also dealing for the BayBears. His fastball has more life and velocity now than before he had surgery. His change-up is wicked. Also, Jake Oester's no joke. That was a legit bomb.

Both Tyler Kuhn (25) and Brandon Short (23) celebrate birthdays today.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 06:01 AM) Got a hunch Gilmore is going to really shine throughout this playoff run. Let's hope.
-
Mobile was heavily favored. They just got crushed. That was the first playoff win for the Barons since 2004.
-
Curb...9 for 9. I think 10 for 10 is guaranteed with Michael J. Fox in the season finale.

QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) Well our manager deserves an extension after this one! Up his a**!

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) Pictured: The White Sox front office...Razor Shines not allowed.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) I'm sure they wouldn't but that comment deserves 0% blame for the sweep. I'm sure in the locker room he said something completely different. I know Ozzie has done a s*** job this season, deserves to be gone but I'm amazed by how upset people get about joke BS comments to the media. What do you want him to say? Maybe he's trying to keep it loose. You don't know what he said in the closed clubhouse. The point is you don't say that at all. When you have a manager that does, that is a huge issue. If the players feel that their manager doesn't believe in them, then the current game speaks for itself.
-
Lot of teams will want Dave Martinez. Bob Brenly is a f***ing tool. The only good that would do would be to get him off TV and not have to listen to him.
-
KW Jr. finished with a .195 average. I was close, I predicted .190. Now the question I've been pondering since June...does he start in the playoff games? Or, does he pinch run and come in for defense like he should?
