QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 12:33 AM) Escobar too. Bellamy would be surprising after how he ended last year. I was starting to figure that Escobar was staying in Charlotte since his option wasn't transferred sooner. Seems odd to move him up so quickly, since he probably is trade bait considering that the White Sox do not need to develop an everyday shortstop any time soon. Hopefully Bren can find out who's rehabbing injuries in Extended.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 12:09 AM) Only 11 hitters and 4 infielders (I'm not counting Kuhn). That can't be right. I know, it's very odd. I'm guessing Kyle Bellamy is being assigned to Charlotte.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 2, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) I have a hunch that the Colonel signing means a corner infielder got hurt. Gilmore? Loman? McPherson? Gallagher? He's not going to W-S at age 29. Perhaps Daryle Ward retired? Hate to see Robbie Hudson go. I was right, the tentative Barons roster is out and Jon Gilmore is missing from the active 24. Justin Greene is also missing, but Nevin Griffith is on it. Link

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) You see BA's latest round of transactions? Several cuts, a few of which we know of. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospe...ns-march-23-29/ Just read it, I'll update the board momentarily.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 11:00 AM) But he's not in W-S, so either he's getting demoted back to Kanny, or he's in B-Ham. There's still a week before the season starts, so somebody could be signed.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 31, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) I think I just figured it out... the LOOGY in B-Ham may be Garrett Johnson. Now that would shock me, but you never know. I had him projected for W-S.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 31, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) Some of those bazillion relievers you have in Charlotte will end up in B-Ham. And wasn't Zaleski released? Probably, I'm wondering now who will be the bullpen lefty for the Barons. Maybe Leesman? Not sure about Zaleski, I know he was resigned back in January.

Dash roster has been set, interesting stuff.

Winston-Salem's roster has been set. They are playing a friendly against the White Sox tonight. It could change before they play their first official game next week. Some shockers on there.

QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Terry Doyle just landed in Winston-Salem. Really?!

Shame, my favorite player. Off the charts character.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 07:35 AM) Why? He's not on a big contract, and if no one claims him, he's a free agent. There's no real reason to expect him to decide to return to the sox. Because he sucks and there are plenty of players to fill out Charlotte's roster.

QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) Dammit, I upgraded to Firefox 4.0 and have a problem editing posts. It basically keeps the cursor from being inserted anywhere but at the end. I also cannot add to the end of a post is I quote someone. f***, I hate s*** like this, 4.0 doesn't fully support Kaspersky add ons yet either, I'm waiting to update.

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 12:33 AM) not a very bold prediction. We don't have a living nightmare thread.

I've got my fingers crossed that Marquez is claimed, but sadly, I doubt it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) JMHO, but... I think Ozzie Lewis doesn't start in B-Ham, he's on the bench. Loman will DH, Marrero at 1B and some OF, but that leaves an open OF slot, which I think Martkiez is in. Then at W-S, you have Mitchell/Ciolli/Shoemaker/Colligan at the 3 OF and 1 DH positions, rotating. Probably. Just didn't seem like Martinez did enough in 2010 to move up to start 2011. But, he probably needs to be pushed a little. Don't forget KW Jr., he's gonna get way too many at bats.
-
Kenny Williams Jr. will hit .190 and get 500 at bats for the Barons.

QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) You're definitely going to be watching him in Birmingham ....hopefully he blows your freaking mind!! Hahahaha F***! I doubt it. I might actually boo a Barons player. It's like Josh Shafer all over again, but much worse. Ozzie Lewis and Christian Marrero better not be losing at bats to him.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 11:57 AM) I'm willing to bet that Nate Jones is a reliever this year, not a starter. Infante will be in AAA is my guess, not AA. I am also thinking that Justin Cassel will either be released or traded before the season starts. I'd also bet that Kyle Colligan will not be a bench player. He's very toolsy, and I think the org is not that low on him. You're probably right. It's hard to project pitchers, I was thinking they'd want both Infante and Carter to close and Infante spent less time at AA. Justin told me last summer that he would be ready to pitch by now, so I don't know what's up with him. If Mitchell, Ciolli, Shoemaker, Martinez and Colligan are all at W-S, then somebody's on the bench. I would think Martinez would be there, but it's not impossible that he could move up to B'ham.

QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 10:09 AM) Lol I know, right!? I know A LOT of things before you guys that I'm just not allowed to share ...I knew about Morel moving up way before he did ..Chase did room with KWjr after all. It gets frustrating when I can't say anything!! Lol You'd make my year if you told me Kenny Jr. decided to voluntarily retire. Instead, I'm sure I'm going to have to watch him hit .190 and get 450 at bats for the Barons.
