New board up with some minor changes.
-
Don't know if it's been posted, but for everyone's information, the players out of options are Philip Humber, Sergio Santos, Brent Lillibridge and Jeffrey Marquez.
-
Michael Gough, 94. He played "Alfred" in the original Batman movie series.
-
If you look at my Big Board, you'll notice that there are several players already signed to minor league deals that could supplement the abilities of a Brent Lillibridge if the need were to arise. In a nutshell, he's very replaceable. Robbie Hudson, for instance...I've seen him play second, short, third, left and center. There's no point debating the value of Brent Lillibridge.

QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 07:28 AM) NSS72/JPN, what are your thoughts from Carter´s performance in AA and his peripherals/talent going forward. Does he have the stuff for long relief, set up man, or closer? His ERA was a tad high at Birmingham last year but it seems he finally started to find his niche. He seems to have a better future as reliever rather than closer. From what I saw he had serious gas, and he must have had a good offspeed/breaking ball, because he was striking out a lot of guys.

Escobar has to be coming back to Birmingham.

QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) there's always a chance for this to happen. Chase wasn't drafted so they don't have much money invested in him, they have a lot of catchers this year so it would be naive to think that there aren't going to be a few releases. Chase does early work everyday, is the last one to leave everyday, he's changed up his swing and has already been complimented on that several times, his defense has never suffered so that's good ... He's a very hard worker and will do whatever he has to so they see he wants to be there. He's hearing very positive feedback from coaches, pitchers and Donny Lucy ... But the politics in this game are crazzzy! You never know what they're going to do!! Yeah, there is a lot of competition at the catcher spot, and as a whole for minor league roster spots.

QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Mar 13, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Chase was called to the big league field today to catch some bIg leaguers. He got to BS with the guys a little and received a pretty nice compliment from Gavin Floyd. He told him he has great hands and he likes the way he sticks it!! Johnny orton told him to cherish that compliment because Floyd doesn't give them out too often. Needless to say, I am very happy for and proud of him!! Fingers crossed he has an amazing season this year! I'm projecting him for Kannapolis. Is that fairly likely, or is he not so sure yet?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 12, 2011 -> 10:05 AM) I remember when Terrero had big time power. Gartrell>Terrero...no comparison.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Mar 12, 2011 -> 03:35 AM) Stupid question, but what about Gartrell? He is playing (well, hitting at least) quite well this ST. 4th OF? Or native-English-speaking version of Luis Terrero? Don't insult the man. He's got big time power.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) Whisler is back? To do what, be a lefty in the Charlotte pen? As I predicted earlier in the thread. I think someone from the organization is taking my suggestions.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 12:31 PM) Saw a nickname for Viceido that I liked probably because it involves an old song back when there were actual rock stars. Saw it here http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/white-sox-observer/ . The author called him Jackin' Dayan like the song Jack and Diane by John Cougar Mellencamp. A friend of mine called him that back in 2009 when he was in B'ham.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) Maybe you could make them in a publicly viewable Google Docs spreadsheet. That way everyone could see them. I don't have Works. Done.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) When did the Sox sign Michael Restovich? He's still hanging on, eh? At least we have one more ex-Twin somewhere "in the organization" You need to keep track of my big board updates in the Future Sox section. -
I'll do an update tonight with the additions of Wes Whisler and Kenny Gilbert.
-
Haha, called it. The White Sox signed LHP Wes Whisler. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Feb 5, 2011 -> 11:56 PM) Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Wes Whisler or another AAAA type left handed pitcher is signed to be the bullpen lefty for Charlotte. Right now, no left handed relief pitcher in the organization projects for Charlotte. They also signed OF Kenny Gilbert. Both players were formerly in the organization.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2011 -> 10:18 AM) Well, I have no The Adjustment Bureau review as the theater lost power 20 minutes in last night. I'm gonna go see it next week, Emily Blunt is worth the price of admission...yummy.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 01:01 AM) He shouldn't be out too long, but it could hamper his performance once he's in playing shape. I wonder if he'll go back to Kanny once he's ready to play or if they'll go ahead and send him to W-S?

Two questions...can anybody tell me if the Single A teams are playable or are even in MLB 2K11. And, anybody who's played Fallout 3, what can you share about the game. I picked up a used copy for $15. I know, I know, it's 3 years old. I don't spend $60 on games anymore.

Mike Starr, original bassist for Alice In Chains. He was 44.
