Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
QUOTE(Vance Law @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) Also, in addition to the stolen bases he'll bring, he's one of the best baserunners in the game independent of that. Bill James has started tabulating a stat to track all things baserunning that are NOT steals and caught stealings. For 2006 James ranked him #4 in all of baseball behind Figgins, Utley, and Mark Ellis- ahead of folks like Beltran, Reyes, HanRam, Damon, Sizemore, Pods, C Paterson. I believe I saw that he was ranked up there again for 2007. You're s***ting me.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) Based on who they gave tryouts to last year, I think what's most likely to happen is that we'll just start off with MB, JV, Contreras, Danks, Floyd as the starting 5. And on top of that, they'll start off with Egbert, Gio, Haeger, Broadway, and Sisco in AAA. And for the last 3 in the big leagues, each one of them gets put on a short leash, where if they struggle for a month, they're bullpen material and one of the other guys (Broadway probably first in line) comes up & gets a shot. That's my reading of how the tryouts last year went. I could also see Jack in a swingman role.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) At your age?? Did you meet this "doctor" in a bar? Yup. Was having problems with urination for about a week. Nothing showed up in a sample, so I got the old "turn, cough, has anyone checked your prostate? bend over". At least he was gentle. He thinks its a case of prostatitis.

Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
Now Buehrle needs a new best friend. The real question will be who steps up there.
-
Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
Bourgeois won't be with the team, otherwise they would have put him on the 40.

Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
I still want Uribe moved. He's not going to give you good at bats late in the game, so his value rests with his defense. The more I think about it, the more I like Cabrera, but I'm still a little disappointed with what we get back for Garland til I find out the cash.

Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
I guess we couldn't have gotten Furcal. That could've made far too much sense.

Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
So, say hello to one of Gio/Gavin/Egbert for the rotation next year. Buehrle Vazquez Contreras Danks Floyd/Gonzalez/Egbert

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) I can't imagine what it'd be like if someone ended Brady's season. I've read about what happened to McMahon, twice. I don't know if that'll happen to Brady but I don't blame Belichick for taking that risk to make his point. I'm sure Brady's on board and they're all grown men who know what they're doing. It's borderline f***tarded to do that and you know it. Why even risk it? What do they have to prove at this point?
