  1. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:40 PM) 70 posts, and not one mention of the word senile Lover or hater, you must admit he is senile. His senility is partly what drives his homerism. And senile or not, he's my senile White Sox PBP guy, and I love him for it. I went with crazy, and you stole the premise for this post from me.
  2. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:30 PM) Bring back Royce Ring... I was looking at the draft results from 2002, and it sucks so much that we missed getting Cole Hammels by 1 pick!!! Whatever happened to Ring? Wasn't he considered our closer of the future? And then even when he was traded to NYM, they considered him their future closer... He decided to not be good when he was with us.
  3. And he lands there, part of a triumverate of catchers.

  9. heh, why is this such a big deal?
  10. Apparently KSU hired an assistant. Frank Martin.
  11. Second baseman is FutureSox’s #20 prospect By FutureSox Staff Having the rare distinction of being drafted twice by the White Sox, Chris Getz was obviously being looked at as a high priority prospect by the Sox organization. Getz was the fourth round pick of the Sox in 2005, and he now starts in the infield of the Birmingham Barons. Chris sat down with FutureSox.com and answered questions submitted by Sox fans. READ MORE
  12. He's average in CF but his arm is suited for right. Brian is still by far the best defensive CF.
  13. Another reason would be walk up sales would be so s***ty tonight.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) I see him as a #2 guy myself. Both him and Anderson, actually, unless Anderson can develop some of his power.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) I'd rather get rid of a couple of those larger contracts and buy ourselves a good FA leadoff hitter. Im ok with injecting Fields and maybe Sweeney if we can make a larger splash on the FA market. I really see us acquiring a leadoff hitter at 2B/SS in the next couple of years, most likely at 2B.
  16. Um....that probably would not happen for another couple of years, and you can't honestly expect the entire team to stay intact. We've gone at least a year without a leadoff hitter already as well.
  17. The concern about Sweeney is that he'll be Sean Borroughs.....fact is his K numbers keep rising in the minors as well. Sweeney's best case scenario is as a three hitter, but he's not projecting there right now. I will add that Sweeney is still very young, so he still has time to develop, but he's certainly not "can't miss", and there's nothing to suggest he'll ever hit for more than 15-20 home runs in a season in the majors.
  18. God, I still wish the Sox can resign Crede, move Fields to LF, have Anderson in CF and Sweeney in RF in a number of years. That'd be best case.
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:17 AM) The White Sox indeed see Sweeney as their future no. 3 hitter. If he develops his power, he can become a 25-30 homer guy, plus he has decent speed which is good for the 3-hole, and is a good average guy as well. His skillset probably projects to the two hole or somewhere like 6th/7th with what he's got now. He's shown, well, not a whole lot in the bandbox in Charlotte. I'm not on high on Sweeney as most, because while he can hit for average, we need him in a power position as he projects right now to right field.
  20. There's be nowhere for Rocco to play right now, as it'll take a Presidential act to move Pods out of left and Ersty out of center.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) It's not that they get paid dirt, they get millions. Earn your money, and suck it up. I know I would if I was getting played a couple million to play baseball. Believe it or not, some of the guys are kind of old and creaky. Three games in 36 hours puts a bit of a toll on the team mentally as well as physically, plus, God forbid one of our starters gets pulled in the second inning again. Plus, it makes no sense to do it on a getaway day where we play in Oakland the next day.
  22. I just talked to the Charlotte media guy, Charlotte's DL includes Lubisich, Fields and Prinz.
  23. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) Well too bad, suck it up. Back in the day Teams always had double headers on the weekends. So, you're advocating playing one game at 1 PM, another probably around 5 or 6 PM, getting done with the game around 9 PM, leaving town like 3 AM, getting into Oakland like 5 AM their time, and playing a game just 12 hours later after playing two games the night before? Sucking it up or not, that's pretty brutal, especially on an already heavily worked bullpen.
  24. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) They should have a double header on Sunday. And I am really bummed, I was looking forward to seeing Danks pitch tommorow. Teams aren't really big on doubleheaders before playing in California the next day.
