Danksy looking good sans the walks...

Would you make this trade with the Phillies ?
Each and every time I see MacDougal pitch, the more and more I think that he's one of the nastiest pitchers I've seen, and we've got him signed to a great deal.

Sox v Mariners, at TEP, 3:05pm, 3/22/07
Anderson hitting .324, but his grinder index, I hear, is still dangerously low.

Iowa's AD said Alford would be the coach next year.

Falcons to trade QB Schaub to Texans
QUOTE(Shadows @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 11:33 AM) Sage is not the Rage heads.. But he played at Iowa State, so he can deal with mediocrity. (Not to mention the Dolphins.... )

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) Disappointed in how badly Anderson has performed on the ML stage or disappointed that he's not being handed a job? Disappointed in how the team has handled him in general.

Falcons to trade QB Schaub to Texans
Back to the Texans situation...I really thought Sage Rosenfels might have had a chance to start in Houston this year. Apparently, Kubiak loves him, and he's been nothing but megadecent.

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 11:21 AM) Just a "hunch", but I don't think a lot of the minor leaguers like Ozzie. I know there were a lot of furious people about the Tracey incident, and I've heard similiar rumblings about the Anderson situation to what you have. Well, not the caucasian ones at least. On a side note, I talked to Tyler Lumsden the other day, and he says he has no idea where he's landing in the KC organization. Wished him luck, but just not against us.

Hmm, I'd like to see that clip. I know he had a freaky tattoo around his stomach. Some of the minor leaguers I've talked to sound a little disappointed about the whole situation with Brian.

Alford to New Mexico?
ESPN reports Neal will go with Alford to New Mexico. Hopefully, this means a handful decomitts from Hamga and others. It matters to ISU fans because of the in-state recruiting, and it should matter to Illini fans with Chicago-area recruiting.

Alford to New Mexico?
I think Altman is the early betting favorite.

Alford to New Mexico?
They are believed to be targeting Altman, Kruger, and, the best one I read, Gillespie. HA

Any Hamga news? He'd be a heck of a get for ISU.

Alford to New Mexico?
If McDermott really wanted the Iowa job, he must be retarded. He could've waited another year or two, KNOWING Alford sucks. That being said, they might be best off staying in house and hiring Neal.

Singleton is not that bad, IMO. He's just stuck with Farmer. Oh, and Kalapse, I would assume your Grinder index accounts for all stolen base attempts, not just successful ones.

Dont Like This Move Ozzie
QUOTE(joeynach @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 09:42 AM) I think the point is that going Pods, Iguchi, Thome as 1,2,3 sounds pretty dumb. Especially with that many lefties you usually want to break them up to force the other team to change pitchers (relievers) more frequently. With those three up there, who suck against lefties, all a team has to do is bring in a lefty reliever late in the game to shut the top of our lineup down and lock away the game. This happened all the time last year. Thats too easy, and thats why lineups usually break up your LH and RH hitters. It happened last year when we went Pods, Iguchi, Thome and all three couldn't hit lefties. Hell it was even worse when those three started a game against lefties and we couldn't score, now u want to do more of the same. Doesnt make sense. The lineup that would best take into account our 4 LH starters would be, LH Erstad/Pods RH Iguchi LH Thome RH Konerko RH Dye LH AJ RH Crede LH Erstad/Pods RH Uribe I mean at least this way we wont get shutout by the Mark Redmans, Kyle Scheiders, and be blanked by Jamie Walkers and Danny Reyes of the world. Oh, I'm willing to bet we can and will.

What if its not Anderson, Terrero or Perez
Owens would be a much better option if he had any sort of arm, or if he got better reads. He's kinda like Pods.

Aaron Rowand would've tried to aggravate that injury, just to make God mad.

Cooper on White Sox Weekly
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Why is it that every time someone wants a player to make the team or is cheering for an underdog it's immediately written off as a 'man crush'. Must everything be either a man crush or sarcastically critiqued with ridiculous hyperbole? No, f*** you.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) Seems like completely different situations to me. People like Boone because he's a 22 year old with excellent stuff who has produced in both Spring Training and his first time around in AAA. Aside from that it seems like a good amount of fans aren't exactly infatuated with his personality. Baj has meh stuff, a high 80's straight fastball and no real secondary pitches which really didn't project well to the next level despite his pretty impressive numbers at AAA. Fans tended to root for him because he really seems like one of the good guys. Logan actually projects fairly well at the next level unlike Baj. Exactly. Those of us who dealt with Baj just knew he was a friggin awesome guy. Boone can bring it low 90s and looks pretty good against everyone again this spring.

Brian Anderson's Injury
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) Sweeney, however, can play above average D in CF. Also, he has just been having a bad spring. You can't tell me his last 3 spring trainings were flukes. Especially his first one when he was only 19. And if Ryan Sweeney is dominanting AAA this year, which I expect he will be, and we are having CF problems, why not stick him out there in CF? Actually, yea, the 19 year old one was more than likely a fluke. Sweeney doesn't have it figured out yet, and he'll be better off improving in that bandbox.
