  1. Maybe the banner should just be Alex Rios.
  2. It might just be against the Pirates, but it's nice to see the Sox sucking less.
  3. DJ may be high calling this game.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) He isn't already? Not 2.5 months into 2010.
  5. Although part of me would feel better to know that there was actually something wrong, and it's not just a case of the sucks.
  6. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) You should have told that to Kenny long before they got him. This was the move I still don't get. Because he is still easily better than what we traded for him. His .727 OPS was also not killing this team, and even though his defense is bad, someone would have to let me know how many of his errors were truly critical.
  7. Now Jerry Jones, who very well could be one of the people that helped save the Big 12, wants Notre Dame and Arkansas. I certainly wouldn't hate it. ND would obviously have a much easier road to a BCS berth, hinging largely on the fact that they stop sucking, they would have to go through a division that would be ISU, Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas State and one of OU/OSU/Ark.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) Wait, what? When I was at ISU, the athletic department had to be self-sustaining financially, not drawing any money it couldn't produce. Is that not the case anymore? Also, maybe the added money will mean ISU can get baseball back again. It hasn't been as long as I've known. They've moved to being fully self sufficient. This will really help. I really doubt baseball comes back. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) TTU's chancellor Kent Hance apparently got UT, OU, and A&M to give up their "right" to the NU/CU exit funds. The funds will now be distributed evenly in the conference. These funds were apparently part of the 20M guaranteed to UT, OU, and A&M a year, so ...... Woo! Money.
  9. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 07:47 AM) The best part is that only the 20M group of UT, OU, and A&M is guaranteed money. Beebe's made up numbers could really end up biting the other 9 teams in the butt. But who could do anything about it? Not the 5 teams that were just thrilled to be a part of it, or the 3 teams that were put on a pedestal above the rest. At the very least, TTU's chancellor apparently talked UT and OU into not accepting the Nebraska/Colorado buyout money. An 18 year contract sure seems long. Either way, ISU still stands to nearly double its conference revenue, which means they can get off of state money and be self sufficient.
  10. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) Fair. Iowa State is a bigger program than their recent success, but they would have a tough time starting up in a 10 team league with no easy out. I saw that video. He hates Missouri, which actually makes me happy. Hopefully we can finally leave this awful conference in the coming years. Very true. Still a program with two Big 12 titles and a final ranking of #3 in the past decade. It's still a tough road. Mizzou really f***ed up the whole Big Ten thing though.
  11. Boone Pickens might be the only person associated with the possibly departing teams that said "I don't want to go off and leave Iowa State, Kansas State or Baylor"
  12. What got into Ramon? He's making me totally forget Donny Lucy.
  13. I've been reading that the new deals will tie universities in financially to an extent that will make it impossible to leave without losing a LOT.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) One of the worst players in baseball almost homered against him. False, as he is not pitching against Jayson Nix.
  15. All I know is that I love my Droid Eris and the iheartradio app is proving to be neat.
  16. Ramon Castro not sucking is messing with my head. .296
  17. The Big 12 is not going to look at TCU. The four Texas schools don't want TCU to gain traction as a 5th BCS school in the state. Every school in the conference recruits in football against TCU. They won't bring them into the fold.
  18. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) Which also means Iowa State will have no competition for last place now. Don't forget that we are now rid of Greg McDermott. Hope lives.
  19. 10 team Big 12. Play every team once in football. Home and home's in basketball. Stronger basketball conference now.
  20. The Big 12 now HAS to look at expansion to get back to 12, even if they don't actually add. Have to look at BYU, Utah (even though they might very well be gone), Air Force, Arkansas, Memphis and Louisville.
  21. A&M is staying. Looks like the Big 12 will live.
  22. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 06:03 PM) I hope I don't see a UT grad today, I might stab them in the neck. But hey, you get to play ISU every year now!
