In 2021 Tim Anderson was the talk of the town and had been hyped up as one of a select few that would usher in a new generation of baseball. A new generation for youthful players putting their unique mark on the field and a new generation of fans. He was on boxes of cereal, on video game covers, and play with electric confidence that was highlighted on a national stage. And then he was caught cheating on his ( pregnant? ) wife. Spaghetti dinners after he hit bombs surely stoped. His average fell through the floor at a scale whereas he was literally the worst hitter in the league. The team who drafted him kicked him to the curb and he took his depressed average with him to Miami. Sixty five games into that season, he was released by one of the worst teams in baseball. Last year the Angels took a chance on him and by this time in May, he was already told to pack his bags. So, in this episode of Investigative Baseball we ask… what happened to Tim Anderson? Is he sitting at home weeping into the back of puppies who he changes out every few weeks once that “new puppy smell” wears off? Is he growing tomatoes at scale to make his own spaghetti sauce? Offering himself up as a male gigolo? Actual information is allowed as is realistic speculation. Have at it Soxtalk and tune in next week for another episode of “What Happened?”
  2. Someone frame this catch!
  3. Slot is 9.7 million for the third pick. If you sign him for slot at that value then you have about 1.5 million extra and almost 8 million total left to spend as they see fit if they take advantage of the 5%.
  4. The Japanese Connection!
  5. You and I are aligned perfectly going into this draft. Roch had too much expectation and a runner stamp and his performance doesn’t warrant a straight 1.1 pick. Emerson you summed up on the nose. Lackey should be our guy. Hopefully the front office trusts their eyes and don’t give into the pressure of “looking incompetent”. With out luck he will go third to the Twins and torment us for a decade.
  6. In the post game on CHSN they interviewed him and he said, “my flight was supposed to leave at 7:45am but it was delayed until 9, so I got to the park an hour and a half before game time but I was ready to go.” 😆
  7. How about them Antonacci apples brother @Bill The Boy — Boohya boooy!
  8. Damn! Stone just said it’s grade 2. I’ll be shocked if he is back in 4 to 6 weeks and am surprised it’s that bad based on Mune’s reaction.
  9. 4 to 6 weeks… OUCH. So it turned out to be a legit grade 1 tear, I suppose. Weak boner.
  10. Yea, I’d be shocked if he didn’t own a plane or three too.
  11. Hot mic picked up the Detroit radio guy going to commercial after the walk off 😆 https://x.com/Leonard42/status/2060558109102248250/video/1?s=46
  12. Hot mic for Detroit announcer https://x.com/Leonard42/status/2060558109102248250/video/1?s=46 “f*** this game recap” 😆
  13. Nice, I didn’t catch this… heard he was “first at the door to congratulate them in the clubhouse”.
  14. Yep. I’ve made every possible mistake in the relationship book. The two main culprits were being raised by a father who was submissive to his wife to a fault and getting introduced to porn at an extremely young age. That s%*# is evil. 😆
  15. If you want to play that game, they could have drafted Mike Trout instead of that one dude who ruptured his tendon catching a fly ball in spring training… or they could have just simply taken James Wood or Ben Rice. That logic doesn’t play, Sir.
  16. Starting June 5th, they already have a gauntlet of a two week test coming — if they have to trudge through it without Mune, boy… that is really going to speak volumes about this team. Imagine if they play those teams, down their MVP, and come away with a .500 or better clip during that timeframe. It would announce to the world that the Chicago fucking White Sox are for real! I believe in them too.
  17. Have you paid much attention to his last month of video? While the splits and home park factor has some validity ( of course ) he has been raking as of late. Hitting barrels and shots that would be tanks in any big league park.
  18. Hope so! You think King Jerry is down to drop 40k to get him there tonight when he could pay $300 instead and have him there three hours before game time? 😆
  19. Bada bing bada boom - but are we willing to go with what… 12 arms?
  20. I kind of hope Roch chokes tomorrow and Lackey keeps going nuts deep into tourney play. 😆
  21. Colson has signs of the Joe Crede lower back issues. From what I recall, they have been something he battles here and there on a somewhat regular basis. First time I think I heard anything of the sort was last season after he was called up.
  22. I checked flights tomorrow morning from CLT to both Chicago airports and there are a few options where he could get to the park around 11:00. So, he should be starting tomorrow.
