Wishful thinking: Sox win Yankees win Angels win Sox back to 2.5 gb of first and alone in second. The beginning of a 9 game winning streak. Hope returns.

Tim Anderson Called up...Rollins DFA'd
QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) Right! Which means that with Latos at #5 for $3M and only this year committed...was this move really necessary? No. Tim Anderson doesn't pitch and is making league minimum.

***Official MLB Draft 2016 Day 2 Thread***
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) FutureSox @FutureSox 1m1 minute ago Jameson Fisher had 105 walks and 83 strikeouts in 823 plate appearances in his college career. That's one of the best stats I've read all month!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) Thank goodness. Can you believe the Albers story? All those scoreless innings and all that praise and love in April. Eight weeks later, bye bye from all of baseball cause he's so so bad. He ought to go to a personal trainer, lose 15 pounds and try it again with SOME OTHER TEAM. You must know caufield was BSing, yacksamajiz

Finally. Push them chips in boys. Beyond time for some accountability ( as we all know ).

Sox sign Justin Morneau
QUOTE (chisox802 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) For what it's worth once again (in the Mat Latos thread I stated aprox. 20 minutes before it was announced that my buddy who works for the sox & bulls said that this was being announced today or tomorrow), he also said this. This move is solely in case they are not able to land a big bat, which unless the wheels continue to completely fall off they will make every effort to. What took you so long to join Soxtalk, prodigal son?

White Sox Acquire James Shields
I said it before: if I could hit him, stay away. Pray he can turn it around.

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) Don't know if anybody saw the "official" verified San Diego Padres twitter account tonight. The post may already be deleted but at 7:11 someone wrote out "No Tradebacks" on it. Another web site had the screen shot of it. Royals last week and now the Padres dishing it to the Sox. Just a shame. Mark

- 2016 MLB Draft
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) Would not be upset if the Sox plucked Dunn if Rutherford/Ray are off the board. We're in the same boat.- Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) Doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world... Substitute any of Maynard's work with MV, and I would probably become your biggest fan. TOOL has always been and will always be my favorite band. "Learn to swim" is tattooed on my left thigh in big block letters that sap about a foot. Virtual fist bump.- Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Drink MORE when watching the Sox, in that case. Problem being: I haven't drank in about a decade. Anyone who was around here back then will attest to the fact that your suggestion is not a good idea... At all. Unless you would like white sox themed polls who's only potential voting options are comprised solely of Mars Volta lyrics. Yah.- Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) He tends to focus on one thing at a time. At least this time there are two words in it. Priceless. I do have a mild case of OCD which is exasperated by stress. When your outlet for stress is causing stress, things tend to become compounded.- Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) lmao what's your obsession with this dude? I just love his passion and vocal intonations. He's my choice for fan of the year.- Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
It's necessary:- 4th Place
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 10:38 PM) If we DFA'ed Matt Albers, Dan Jennings, Kahnle, Carroll, Webb, Beck, Zach Duke and Purke tomorrow, how many potential suitors would be willing to give up anything of significance for those guys? Putnam's been doing quite well recently, and I'm not even sure that we'd get much back for him. Maybe some team's 24th or 25th bench player? To have any real value, you've got to have dominant stuff, two pitches you can throw for strikes even when behind in the count, be an effective lefty against LHBers OR have something very unique or distinctive about your style or repertoire. In reality, Cooper did a great job doing what he could to get something useful out of all those guys...Latos and Albers included. Putnam and Carroll and Petricka. All of these guys basically came off the scrap heap or were failed starters in the case of Petricka. If you average out their first month (32 games) and their last 26, you get an average MLB bullpen. Why everyone's expecting it to compete with the Yankees or KC is beyond me, they just don't have the talent to strike out tons of hitters, other than Jones and Robertson. Post of the day award.- White Sox will chase Jay Bruce
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) Rick Hahn: (to Cincinnati Reds front office): is your refrigerator running? Dick Williams: is your Jay Bruce running? Rick Hahn: /chases Jay Bruce I don't know why - but that actually made me laugh. Kudos.- White Sox will chase Jay Bruce
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) You make a trade ASAP or sell. It's not worth puttsing around for six more weeks and being even more out of it and then trading for a bat. This trade will be a mistake. Not because I think Bruce sucks but because this team just isn't very good. Bruce would come here and immediately suck too with the Sox luck lately with hitters. Sad thing is that a LH bat and a stable bullpen presence are both needs that need to be addressed simultaneously. I've been telling friends for two months that the Sox won't last and haven't brought that attitude here. However, it's sadly true. If they don't go like 15 and 5 or something over the next 20, they're screwed. LaRoche bailing last minute set up a gaping hole. Trying to win now and protect draft picks set up another. They had a shot to do something great but the flaws were there from the start. For me, the buck stops at KW and Hanh. Let's see if they fix it.- Robin Ventura should be fired today
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) It was something along those lines without looking it up exactly. I think it may have been a quote from Eaton. Something along these lines... "We never really recovered from being swept in Kanas City..."- 4th Place
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 09:43 PM) After 58 games in 2015, Sox were 28-30. After 58 games in 2016, Sox are 29-29. 1 game better than last year after a 23-10 start. Unreal.- Ozzie
Oh, now you done did it. Get ready for it. If they rehire Ozzie, they better bring me aboard as well to ensure he always has an IV drip of Jonny Walker blue label full.- Sox (29-28) vs Nats (34-23)
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) I'm not asking for you to appease me, I just don't know why you post the same silly GIF over and over again. The phrase "stop" is an assertion who seeks a secondary party to appease. My anger management instructor actually gave me an assignment to "be light and unbridled in your humor when engaging with your White Sox obession"... He said something about humor mitigating an unconscious self centered external savior complex that I "project onto a futile sports team." Personally, I think he knows f***-all. - 2016 MLB Draft
