This thread has turned into Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah - Wah Wah Wah - Wah Wah - Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah. Peanuts style.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 09:54 AM) I bet he makes the next start for Rodon,n then moves to the bullpen. That would be exciting.
  3. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...wo-futures-game Struck out 2 in the futures game...projecting more as a reliever. With the Sox hurting for relief, maybe this is the time to bring him up? I honestly would hate to see them trade away talent for relief pitching from another team unless that relief is under control for a few years. Looks like Fulmer though isn't going to be a starter, according to his own words in this article anyway. Thoughts? Should they keep him down there a little longer or bring him up now? I don't think his quotes indicate he's being moved to the bullpen. Interviewer: "could you pitch in a bullpen?" Fulmer: "yea, sure." Interviewer: "would you pitch in the bullpen to help the white sox this year?" Fulmer: "yea, sure." If the line of questioning went another way, you would have seen: Interviewer: "Do you believe you can start in the majors at a high level?" Fulmer: "yea, sure."
  4. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 11:27 PM) I don't think they ever had any intention of signing one of the big 3 outfielders. The only way was if they accepted the Sox lowball offer. We won't know for sure but insiders here said the offers were real. One being higher that an accepted offer ( Gordon ). We certainly know they didn't want to sign one of the big 3 AND trade for Bruce. But that lineup sure would have been tits.
  5. For conversation sake: Jose Abreu - .258 Todd Frazier - .145 Melky - .293 Lawrie - .284 Avi - .333 Shuck - .208 Navaro - .234 Eaton - .239 Anderson - .278 Jackson - .364
  6. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 11:13 PM) Curious about Cargo. Now I know his road splits are worse but he'd be coming to a very hitter friendly park. Not as good as Colorado but it's good. He would've hit bombs this weekend at the Cell. I'd much rather have him than Bruce. .306
  7. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) I suspect a relief pitcher or 2 might be obtainable The bat will be much harder. Might have to roll with a better bullpen and hope Morneau does as good as the last 2 years without the aid of Coors ( Field not the beer). If we do get another bat I would suspect it to be more of a complimentary piece than a Bruce, Cargo or Lucroy.. Relying on help from the minors in the BP is a fools errand. Imagine if the Bruce trade went through in the offseason and they had signed Cespedes. SS - Anderson CF - Eaton LF - Cespedes DH - Bruce 1B - Abreu 3B - Frazier RF - Melky 2B - Lawrie C - Navaro
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) I'd assume just take what player you'd add (call him X). Take a stat like RISP and then factor player X in. Sox are hitting .239. Beltran is hitting .215. Bruce .366.
  9. I'd be interested to see some in depth stats that illustrate how much difference a big bat would have made in our line up in the first half and forecasted into the second. As in - how many LOB have we had per game on average. How many 2nd base or 3rd base runners stranded with 0 outs / 1 out / 2 outs... Take those stats and figure how much would change with a producer added. Maybe - just maybe - a big bat would do a lot for this team. Most likely not enough but just wondering.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) You speak the truth. I don't know why people don't like my suggestion that could rebuild this team in a hurry. ... Over the all star break identifiy the young studs on contenders' AA and AAA teams and GO GET THEM. Look, contenders will want the guys I want to deal: Melky, Robertson, Frazier, Duke, Lawrie, Avila, Navarro. Somebody might also want Avi and/or Shuck. Trade Q as well if you get an unbelievable haul in return. Get a boatload of players for these guys and rebuild around Sale, Abreu, Eaton, Anderson, Saladino and maybe Q. Nate can become the closer until the offseason when we buy one via free agency. GO SOX! f*** that - if you're blowing it up.. Blow it up. Sale and Abreu goes as well. Q for sure. Anderson, Rodon, and Eaton are the new ones to build around.
  11. My guess is if they're trading for anyone of substance, he'll not just be a rental. This doesn't include bullpen help, thou.
  12. That kids McCain impression was aweful

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) Those strikeouts though. What? Strikeouts are fun!
  14. Two trade articles in one day. Yup. The season is upon us.
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Is he starting? Wtf
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) Rodon has struggled with the Yankees (10 ER's in 9 career IP)...let's hope he can figure it out. Didn't he give up like 7 in 1 2/3 last year thou?
  17. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) 42-40. Melky should be back tomorrow. Jackson not far off and Morneau on rehab next week. How's Jackson progressing, I haven't read anything about him lately at all.
  18. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) lol YOU started all this s*** and yet can't produce a line showing anything. BOX SCORE OF SHIELDS SHOWING IP MORE THAN 5.0 AGAINST RED SOX. Thanks.
  19. Avila - how do I love you... Let me count the ways. Ok, I'm done counting.
  20. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) Houston seems to be playing as a team while the Sox are playing as individuals. Uh. Wtf?
  21. Abreu - that ball is gone in just about every other park... s***
  22. Hawk saying Avi hasn't been having trouble defensively. Uh. Yea. Ok.
