QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 01:29 PM) Didn't realize Miguel Olivo was still around. MLB allows ear biting... Duh.

f***. Yes. Anyone see what his fastball was at?

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 12:39 PM) Bernie Pleskoff @BerniePleskoff 2m2 minutes ago Heard it in the press box: #Athletics on the prowl to move some older players and are looking for middle infielders. Speculation anyone?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 09:17 AM) May could play defense in the majors today. I don't know if he is ready to hit, but he can catch the ball. Isn't it crazy that people learn to hit a baseball for 20 something years and then are deemed great if they can successfully get a hit 30% of the time?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 07:50 AM) Anybody know what the arrows mean? Just a guess - maybe it means that pitcher then continues work on the side or on another field / game?

The real reason LaRoche retired came out today. According to a trusted source, after hitting a home run off a left handed pitcher in a spring training game, he knew it would never happen again... Deciding shortly thereafter to quit while he was ahead.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 10:32 AM) http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/jerry-r...n-adam-laroche/ According to JR no one lied, just miscommunication and misunderstanding, and it could have been handled better, and he has never had more respect for LaRoche. With the gag order, Rick Han will have never spoken on this matter, after it came out why he retired. I don't agree with JR about no one lying. Someone lied.

QUOTE (jamesdiego @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) I certainly believe there were players and coaches who voiced complaints. Mainly because it makes absolutely 100% sense that grown men would feel a little odd in a major league f'n clubhouse where a kid is there all the time. And on the field during training. Not exactly the atmosphere professionals might not want to be in. Sure, some guys damn well liked having a kid around all. the. time. But some players and coaches I would bet did not care one f***ing bit for it. Even if that was the case, the time to raise the concern was the offseason and the voice for it sure as he'll isn't KW.

Who do you believe is MOST guilty in the Laroche situation?

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) I blame Hahn. He never should have signed the bum in the first place. Hah. I hate to say it but my backing of this signing was and will likely forever be the biggest dose of crow eating the doctor will ever order me. -
QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) Why exactly? Because a handful of players said they didn't see any issues? VIrtually every media source in Chicago, and most outside of it, are reporting the same thing. Kenny botched the handling of it, but there is no way asking Laroche to dial it back was unreasonable. Because a wide variety of players have stated no one had an issue... Also because Kenny changed his story. Cardinal rule of calling out a liar... Look for a change in the story. Personally I find it more likely that the "sources" who quote players having an issue most likely to be KW and his pawns.
-
QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 07:01 PM) This just isn't true; multiple media sources have said there were several complaints? You can't just ignore that I have to question the sources of these proported complaints.

Maybe LaRoche retiring gives Garcia the DH, where his defensive value is a moot point.
-
We all know that there's only one reason KW is still around. Sure hope that changes.
-
Anyone else find it odd that the starting pitcher for us is still TBD today?

Here's a thought, why not wait until the offseason of 2016 to make this change in policy? Kenny has stated in interviews that "nothing has changed" regarding the Sox stance with his kid but that's just plain politicians talk. This story is the oddest since Olivo going Mike Tyson.

The way I see it, you can summarize this entire thing in one of two words... Integrity or Adolescence

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) Then there's this: "His teammates rose to his defense and challenged Williams in a heated clubhouse meeting, according to multiple sources" http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/adam-la...going-on-031616 Makes little sense between the sources... - "players went to KW wanting him to do something about LaRoche." - "players rose to LaRoche's defense and challenged KW."

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) Twitter is blocked on this network, what is this Live look in at White Sox front office http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rTkkkl…

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) Paul Konerko a visitor in #whitesox clubhouse. https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/710140479661219841 Since Paulie makes his home in Scottsdale, wouldn't doubt it if KW called him to come in and talk things through with LaRoche. Total speculation without basis here.

Another option - save the money for early trade season and get a RHSP.

Hard choice it is better playing baseball and cutting up cows.

Didn't someone predict a LaRoche retirement in the bold predictions thread? Crazy.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 07:16 AM) Sure sounds like Sox were runner-up for Gordon http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-colum...le65700802.html Lines up with all the red hot stove discussion we were all having here about Gordon right before Christmas.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 06:39 AM) I think the Sox end up starting the season with Sale, Q, Latos, Rodon and Danks as the starting rotation with Turner as the long man. If Danks or Latos has problems, Johnson or Turner will get a chance. Ditto
