  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 4, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) ... Frazier... But as of now, Trayce is out-hitting him. In what universe?
  2. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 4, 2016 -> 02:07 PM) they need someone who can get on base. Good point - why not someone who gets on base at a high clip and has power. If we're going for it... Go for it. Put Lawrie in the two hole and find a LH stud to sandwich between Abreu and Frazier.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) Only problem is that his defense in center has been subpar, according to DRS and UZR. Not sure what I've been missing as AJax hasn't had any issues according to the eye test subjected by yours truly. Any idea why the metrics aren't high on him?

    QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) Nola was the most ML ready pitcher in that draft. But his stuff isn't nearly as electric as Rodon's. Nola's control has been absolutely insane this year though (only 6 walks in almost 40 innings). His control reminds me of Buehrle. On MLB Networl today they also compared his arm angle to Sale. Very interesting pitcher. I too however am more than please that we have our own young stud in Rodon.

    QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 4, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) I think there is little doubt Nola will finish 2016 the better pitcher. Rodon still has a lot of work to do to even scratch his ceiling, whereas Nola seems have been ready for MLB batters from day 1. Remember this being the pro and con side for each pitcher leading up to draft day. Personally I think Rodon will start to heat up as we see Latos fall. Pretty amazing what our pitching staff has done without Rodon firing and with the whole Danks downfall. Nola has impressed more than I had anticipated. Dudes gonna be a stud.

    I know we don't have much sample size to go off but wanted to bring this up... When the 2014 draft was cooking, speculation and insider comments stated the Sox wanted Nola if Rodon went before us. There was even some who thought we would take Nola even with Rodon still available. Who do you think will have the better career? I'm not suggesting we made the wrong choice or the right choice - just bringing up the topic for discussion.
  7. We could have easily scored 10 this game. #DontStopBelievin

  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) If the Sox are impressed, they should be one of the leading teams, both having the resources and an immediate need. Si
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 3, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) Just had a crazy thought . What if Danks retired and left that money on the table like LaRoche did . Reminds me of some Areosmith song... How'd the chorus go again??
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 3, 2016 -> 07:50 AM) LOL why do the guys with inside info always want to tease us in that way ? Is there some commandment that says " Thou shalt not say anything unless you make your meaning mysterious." Actually, yes... That's pretty much it
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 2, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) What would you say if you woke up and this thread title was a matter of fact? "Holy s***. That's good news. f***, that sucks."
  16. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) ...anachronistic... Meh.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 2, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) AA had a late scratch for a starting pitcher as NSS. Maybe related to an organizational shake up? Huh?
  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 2, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) What would you say if you woke up and this thread title was a matter of fact? Well, now that's a cryptic post from you if I've ever seen one.
  19. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 2, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) f*** that. My being entertained is far more important than Todd Frazier taking a rest, he should expire on the field if that is what I require! Case in point.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 2, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) It's for the best. The guys needed a breather. Logically, we understand. Selfishly, we don't give a rats ass.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 2, 2016 -> 04:15 PM) Man, f*** off days, this blows. +1
  22. QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ May 2, 2016 -> 01:42 PM) I'm deathly afraid of what Boegarts, Betts, Ramirez, Shaw, Papi, and Pedroia are gonna do to Danks on Wednesday. If he blows a wad and gives up a fat crooked number in like 1/3 IP, good... It's the final nail in the coffin and we move on. (Hopefully) Honestly, they won't have a choice to not address Danks if he wets the bed big time... So I say, bring it.
  23. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 2, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) Sale, for the 6-0. But then I remembered he had a start in May. That Detroit fellow was 5-0 also with a much better ERA. Not sure how their WHIP compares but seems like the voters don't rely on it much.
  24. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 2, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) MLB ‏@MLB 54m54 minutes ago Your AL and NL Pitchers of the Month: @JZimmermann27 and @JArrieta34. What'd you expect?
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) He points at him, and then you can sort of see him motion out with his other arm. Ah, yes. On my first view it looked to me like he was motioning to first base... No I see the out call.
