  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 01:11 AM) This is what I am talking about when I say this team is inconsistent from one inning to the next. This is now a whole new ballgame. Ok... I'm just going to bite my tounge.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) I had a dream last night that the Sox took a one-run lead in an extra inning game. Santos came in for his first save opportunity and gave up back to back homers. They can't even win in my dreams! Ouch
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) You can't complain. This is currently the least pessimistic thread on the site. Most likely it also has the least breadth or weight as well.
  4. what universe did we end up in?
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) GO TO HELL Thanks for stirring the pot... Oh... wait... you're right... This is a message board, your rightful place to come and express your differing points of view. The only thing that's good for is boasting your ego. Grow up man.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) And to be honest, I don't understand why there should be a thread completely devoid of discussion and arguments for the sake of keeping it wholly "optimistic", especially when every "pessimistic" thread is filled with people trying to tear down the basic idea of the thread. The point is this: someone who is optimistic will never be convinsed of a pessimists perspective and visa versa. It's just good for butting heads - nothing else. I've got no clue why people who are taking an optimistic point of view are even viewing - let along responding to - the stuff in the doom thread. There's no point in trying to sway others or be critical towards people who don't share their views. I suggest we all just let each other be and be chill. Unless there is some ego based need to stir up s***... Than carry on ( that's for all you who are talking s*** in the other thread. ) I refuse to even read that stuff over there
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Hilarious. It's like you're considering these paid professionals to be children on a little league team. Come on brother - you've got an entire thread to go parade criticism. Don't bring that here man.
  8. Right on my peeps! It begins today!!!
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) So wait, there are people that are happy that he's feeling discomfort because it's in his lat? I think that people are encouraged that the MRI came back with nothing and that he'll be back on the mound in 5 days. We'll see... seems like thin ice to me - but hey, like Coop keeps saying - he is coming back from a major surgery. Let's keep hoping for him to pull through.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) If Peavy does make a comeback on the 8th of May as has been suggested by the Sox I will be warching in Seattle. I would love to see Jake dealing to the Mariners How cool would that be Rock Have you got tickets to the games yet? I'd like to take in some ball with you.
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) Imagine if you were JP and started feeling a pain in that same surgically repaired spot while on the mound. Must have been pretty frightening. And just as reassuring to hear that there's nothing wrong with it. Honestly, I think this is great news. I sure hope so. It'd be sweet if Jake comes back and kicks some major ass... wins consecutive Cy Young Awards... and ten years later, we find a new movie ala: Rudy is made with the title: Peavy. haha =P
  12. Fire Ozzie, Fire Kenny, Have a Fire Sale, Adam Dunn is Done, Lillabridge for CF to Leadoff... Those are the most popular threads on soxtalk right now - what a disgrace. Where are your balls men? Where are your ovaries women?? GO SOX!!! FIRE ON ALL CYLINDERS BABY! CLIMB BACK TO FIRST AND GIVE US A 5 GAME LEAD BY THE END OF MAY!!!

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) Yeah, it's a blast I guess it depends on who you are as an individual. Those who just want a high performing pitcher back in action - won't see this as fun - and that's fine. There are others thou, who value the story itself and the devotion and strength it takes for him to battle through this... Through those eyes, it is fun to follow this story. I still hope he comes back strong at this point and still have my fingers crossed. The latest news is disappointing - no doubt.

QUOTE (gatnom @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) Peavy? It's disappointing to see but thus far Humber has done just fine. Peavy is coming back from a major injury and it's fun to pull for him the entire way - through ups and downs. It's a great story... Of course, it's hard at times but I'll take it on and keep pulling for him. I just hope that the bullpen finds it's legs / Ozzie makes the right calls down there. I think our offense will be fine and our starting pitching as well... So, I'm not ready to call this year over and start calling for peoples heads. We've got like 150 games left. Get ready for a nice win streak and for posters to start phrasing players It happens

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 07:01 PM) I find it funny that, almost immediately after a thread was created saying that things can't get worse, they got worse. Actually, I'd rather see this than what our bullpen displayed. The offense will be fine and isn't a concern for me.
  16. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) I am just saying that I don't consider it a setback when he hasn't even made much progress towards returning. Him being at 70 pitches and having discomfort in the lat while building to 90 is a setback - and it's not a good sign - no matter how you take it. Let's see what the reports bring today... Bummer.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 03:04 AM) I just want to reiterate what was said throughout the thread - it could get worse from there. It has. Overall, it will get better from here. Just hope that they can hit the ball a bit tomorrow. Yep - it's going to turn around... I just hope the bullpen comes around now as well! It's still early and we'll get to firing on all cylinders at some point - hopefully it's soon!!!
  18. what a bummer today has been in white sox nation.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) I plan on being in Seattle to see the Sox beat up on the Mariners May 6-8. Anyone else going to be at SAFECO? I was there last in 2005 and saw the Sox go 2-1 versus the Mariners My good Sir - I am pleased to inform you that you're not alone in your Seattle / Soxtalk representation as I too will be in attendance for this series. I recommend you check out the ace hotel and if you want a nice meal - look into Sunday brunch at ivars and a seafood dinner at cutters. Lets plan on sitting together for the games. Cheers!
  20. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 06:47 PM) Didnt we just add Jeff Grey by sending down Milledge.... so can`t we just send down Grey once Peavy returns? Dingdingding Easy peasy
  21. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) Someone needs to tell our bullpen that "all in" does not apply to inherited baserunners. Bwahahahahahaha

QUOTE (MEANS @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Our offense is what has been playing over their heads. I'm not so sure of this. Rios will be hitting better than he has thus far. AJ also falls into this category. Another variable is that Dunn has not contributed to our offensive statistics during a portion of the first 12 games. Pierre, Konerko, Carlos, and Alexi should see a drop off of varrying degrees but those who are off to slower starts will pick up as well. It may just be the case this year that our offense is at the top of the majors at the dish this season. I also expect our starters to continue doing this well - maybe with a slight increase in WHIP. Once the bullpen gets on track - well be ready to roll out some nice winning streaks. I'm also booking a nice shot in the arm with Peavy coming in May and Humber taking over for Pena. As bad as it's looked thus far - sifting through the ugliness... There is a lot to be happy about for the 2011 Sox
  23. Only thing of interest here is your last stat showing how our success rate has been between the 65 and 70 range. That's where we'll end up - this debacle won't last all year.

Our pen will get straightened out. Adam Dunn is back in the lineup. Juan Pierre can't keep making so many errors and mental mistakes. We're 7 and 5 after playing some of the worst ball possible... Let's take this as a sign that this team will be down right dangerous when our ship is righted.
  25. It was nice to see Ozzie stop being a diplomat and start showing his aggravation in the post game interview today. Looks like it's Sanots time - we really have no other options it seems. Man, it was disappointing to see Sale unable to lock it down - I was happy to see him coming in at the top of the ninth... Disappointing to say the least but I really think that this will get worked out and we will look back at the start of the year as our worst ball of the year. Hopefully it turns around right now though because 7 and 5 isn't bad at all... We just need to turn the corner with the pen and our D
