  1. I don't see what the big issue is with calling up McPherson... Look at his numbers in the minors this year - nothing to scoff at and actually not worlds apart from TANK like many are assuming. In some categories - he actually has BETTER numbers than Viciedo.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:21 AM) And just to fuel the fire, Juan now owns a -1.2 WAR. Making him the worst player in baseball by DOUBLE that of the 2nd worst player, which is Carl Crawford at -0.6. How does that one sit with you guys? Still don't want to release him and have to eat $4M or so? Cut our losses. Later JP.
  3. QUOTE (Andrew @ May 14, 2011 -> 05:26 AM) Whoa - What am I getting warnings for? Are you pregnant? Because if you are Andrew - you may be getting warnings because people want to ensure a successful delivery. The warnings are probably just in your best interest. No worries. Be happy and have another drink.
  4. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) I wonder if he'll have a pitch limit? Likely at most 100 pitches.
  5. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 9, 2011 -> 03:45 AM) Everyone on the team would laugh at him. Guys who are on the DL and aren't playing are ignored especially one who has been out as long as he has. It's the "big talk from a guy who hasn't helped us" mentality. Once he si pitching for thebig club it will change though. I visably saw him at games interacting with the players in a way in which I could deem, comradery... It looked like there was no sour grapes or boysterious acts. Hopefully Jake can fire them up with some ace like pitching - who knows, it IS possible.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2011 -> 01:02 AM) Has Peavy been with the big league club in the dugout much this season? I wish in between minor league starts they'd have had him in our MLB dugout. He seems like a bad ass that wouldn't stand for some of the horses*** play we've had during the season-opening skid. He's been with the club on quite a few occasions - both at home and away.
  7. Great to read that the gun registered as high as 94. Hopefully Jake can have some SUSTAINED SUCCESS for our SOX!
  8. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 6, 2011 -> 01:53 AM) Still have an extra ticket for Friday nite if anyone wants it. Let me know if interested. Hey there sin city - I'd love to go with you. Do you still have the ticket? Let me know - itd be great to see the sox with another fan. Let me know Por favor. Cheers
  9. Had a very strong 1 - 2 - 3 inning in the 7th ending his night. 100 pitches It seemed that from the fourth on he was out of the stretch exclusively. He retired everyone he faced except for 8 batters in the 3rd where he gave up 5 runs. His breaking stuff looked great at times and others, he hung some stuff. Fastball lacked movement and didn't see too have much zip on it. In game interview coming soon.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 5, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) And somehow not a single step has been taken to address the teams woes. No player has been sent down and no one on the coaching staff has been let go. Unbelievable. No bleepin kidding
  11. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ May 6, 2011 -> 01:14 AM) I'm not the type to say stuff like this, but I'll go a bit further than that. Until he shows he's earning that fat paycheck he doesn't even register to me as a White Sox... He said it himself last season... He's on the 40 man roster.
  12. Looks like he's comin back for the 7th
  13. He's back in and gets an easy out. I dOnt know why he's pitching from the stretch with nobody on thou.
  14. Jakes not looking good - 5 runs in 1 inning. Also, to me showed some discomfort during a visit to the mound - but stayed in... He might not have been hurting - but maybe rather pissed off. We'll see - I'm guessing best case here is that he's got one more start in the minors.
  15. Anyone have a PSD file of the soxtalk logo? I'd like to use it in creating a new banner for fun

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) Not ever, ever, ever going to happen. What makes you say that? I'd love to see some support to your very very very opinionated post

Hopefully he keeps pitching great and we use a 6 man rotation when peavy returns.
  18. Wow... 10 to 4 now in today's game. 7 unearned runs in the last two innings. If things don't improve quickly - we're seeing what could go down as the biggest disappointment of a team in our franchise history. Ugly. I flippin hope things take a drastic turn for the better... Yikes!!! If this indeed keeps up all year - heads are gonna roll.
  19. Fastball was just clocked at 89mph. Strikes out the last batter - going 5.2ip and now being taken out as a result of reaching his pitch count limit ( they didn't say what that number was ) It'll be interesting to read the following reports on how he felt, where his velocity was at, what the pitch limit was, and how his body responds over the weekend.
  20. Just gave up a 1 out double ( which should have actually have been scored an error ) and then a two run homer. Now he's at 3er in 5.1ip with 7k 0bb
  21. 7 strike outs and has retired the last 10 batters - now through 5.1 ip. No walks. These last two outs are suspected to end Prague night.
  22. So far in today's rehab start for charlotte. Through 5 - Jake has given up 1 run and has fanned 6. No ideas what his pitch count is at yet. Will update as the game goes into the 6th here.
  23. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 01:05 AM) Any further information on his outing today? I guess I should look in the Peavy thread I see the game is on and peavy is pitching. I'm watching it and will update the peavy thread for those interested.
