Chris Sale sucks
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 06:09 AM) Next Sox/Twins game I go to, I need to bring a "Well Played Sale" sign in the off-chance that Sale faces Mauer late in the game, and K's him.

Humber
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 02:49 AM) Pretty sure his nickname has already been decided. Philip Humper. There really is no hope for a cool nickname when the origin must coincide with Humber. I think that the only option may be simply: "HUMB!" ( pronounced HUMP of course. )

Chris Sale sucks
QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) If we drop down to AAA AJ, Sale, Dunn, Buerhle (winaa), Quentin, Peavy, and maybe a coiuple others, we'd have the best farm system in baseball! f*** Yeah! Good call Tex. It would also curtail the naysayers who say that all is wrong with the ChiSox. I'm not sure where all this nonsense comes from. It's 2011 and our team going into the year looks a TON better than 2010. Let's go SOX! IT'S ALMOST TIME BABY!!

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 02:52 AM) GLENDALE, Ariz. -- "So it's the same soreness you generally have during this time of Spring Training that all the guys have. He's working through it. But his recovery time, because of the injury, let's say it's at seven days instead of four days. Now, the more he works through it, it will go down to six days of recovery. It will go down to five days, and then four. "Depending upon what kind of plan we put into play, and how long that will be, we can't shut him down from what I've been told. He's got to work through some things," Williams said. Now that's what I like to see. Yeah baby - that's rationality right there boys.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 01:47 AM) Back on the mound even in a B-game by Sunday would be solid. To me it really seems like it all hinges on arm strength right now. He's structurally solid according to the medical department. His tendinitis is not something completely isolated to anything other than inactivity. Therefore - it's really a matter of just getting his strength back to 100%. We have no idea what the timetable for that is. He could go out - throw 80 pitches - and report no soreness or tendinitis. At that point, we're only out a week. The wait and see game continues... It'll be nice when it's over and Jake is back to being himself again.... or, he tanks and will never be back - at least we could then call a spade a spade. For now - I'm gonna continue supporting and giving my energy to the side of belief in a positive outcome.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
Peavy: "I have told these guys everything I feel in my body and let the guys that are more educated on the subject make the decisions," Peavy said. "That's what happened and every decision that has been made has been a consolidation of all of us put together." In that sense, Peavy appeared vindicated that not only is his current setback not deemed serious but that it was actually expected by doctors. "We've been treating it and getting some good meds in," Peavy said about the anti-inflammatory medication he has been taking. "Hopefully we can calm this thing down and I can get on a mound by the weekend and be without any discomfort and be able to climb. Where this takes us I don't know but that's kind of the game plan now."

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
More from Kenny... KW: "This is basically a guy who has worked his tail off to get back to a point to where he can start the season with us," Williams said. "Obviously, that's in jeopardy right now. To a large degree, we're going to listen to Jake and the doctors structurally have said there is no problem, no worry about the lat being detached again." KW: "Again, it was anticipated," Williams said about Peavy's current situation. "So in that anticipation, I'm still very encouraged that we're ahead of the curve. We are ahead of where we thought we would be. ... I'm a little disappointed in the play that it's gotten because I've tried to warn everybody from the outset we were looking at a blip that was going to come at some point in time. So in my mind, we never stopped planning for that."

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) I'm intrested to see how effective Peavy will be without that wicked moving drop down 92-94 mph 2 seamer that starts 3 inches off the plate and tails to the outside corner. It has been said that he can't drop down nearly as much anymore because of the lat injury. When we traded for him I watched his highlight videos on mlb.com, as a Padre, he used to get quite a few strikeouts with that pitch. There are many questions that remain with regard to his effectiveness once he returns... It's all just a matter of having to wait it out. I can understand fans being impatient but he's too close to starting games and showing us what he can do. It's going to go one of two ways: he'll be able to come back and return to form - or he won't return and will be an oft-injured waste of salary. There is no use in acting like he's destined to be in that second category when there is nothing to base that judgement on. Just like when this tendinitis came up - people where already saying he wouldn't be back until the second half... There is no merit to those types of statements except idle speculation. All we can do is hope for the best and see what happens. I'm totally prepared to write Peacy off and call it a horrible trade - but I won't do so until that situation is apparent in reality. Right now - it's the wait and see game and we all have a choice as to who's corner we're with. I sure as hell know that I'm in the ring in Peavy's corner - ready to tough it out. Lets just get this bull ready for the ding of that bell and hope that he goes at it like Tyson in his heyday.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
Peavy gets healthy... Peavy comes in and kicks major ass. White Sox get into the playoffs... Soxtalk loves peavy and doesn't get to talk more s*** until 2012. Oh wait - who am I kidding - there will be s*** talking here even if we win back to back titles.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 10:37 PM) So does this mean Peavy might have a significant problem or was Romero just taking a look at the MRI results? It's been disclosed in many news resources that the MRI results showed nothing concerning.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) That can easily be interpreted as "he sucks" I'm glad that someone else points out such irrationality so I don't have to. The point is Milk and J4L - that both of you have been out of line recently and that is why I've chosen to ignore you. It's a soxtalk policy not to personally attack not only poster - but players as well. I don't enjoy constant negativity and it's something I chose not to subject myself to. All that I'm doing is pointing out the underlying negative attitude that you both have. It's my personal choice and action to ignore you both. With regard to your false assertions that my posts have no merit - look back again pal - I'm always making reference to actual news or seeking out information from board members who have qualifications to make educated posts. There are two camps here - one in which irrational emotionally negative charged statements run wild and another in which hope, trust, constructive conversation, and rationality are valued. If you have some sort of issue reading this - it's surely not because of my writing or the content of my writing. I've been here for quite a long time as well Milk and it's safe to say that i just dont get along with people who have a mindset like yours. Let's stop the personal attacks on players and posters.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) A much more positive comment, no less... but I'm not digging for it! It had something to do with ALL THIS BEING NOT UNUSUAL. Yea, that's not in the doom and gloom realm - thus, people around here tend to ignore it. Pthh

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) CST_soxvan Daryl Van Schouwen Peavy played catch today, getting looked at by surgeon Which has always been the case. The surgeon saying yesterday that Peavy will be limited to 60 pitches - was saying so without even seeing him and based upon current circumstances. Things have changed in the last 48 hours and we could get some good news today. Who knows.

Adam Dunn
QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 06:18 PM) My glass is half empty on Dunn. He strikes out about 40% of the time and is barely hitting .200. At least he doesn't clog up the bases. We gave up a lot of money and a #1 draft pick this year. This will go down as one of Kenny's worst moves, I believe. I'm telling you - all we need is for April first to roll around and for the sox to run off a nice winning streak to start the year. It'll shut all these people up.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) Yeah, I believe I was watching MLB Network where they always show the rankings in the background and JFP was like 3rd in the AL in strikeouts prior to that start. Yea - but he sucks. Always has sucked, always will suck, and will never again be healthy - now that we've heard about a sore rotator cuff - it is over. He's a glass piece of s*** ass hole.

QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) There are people that find flaws in everything enjoy your lives. Yep - no need in heeding the words of insensate pessimism.
