I don't have the numbers on hand but pretty much any inning in which the Tigers loaded the bases against us. Freddy Garcia's outing in the Urinal opener was also memorable. I seem to remember him coming off some rough outings and giving up a few warning track shots in the wind that afternoon. In the box score, it turned out to be a great performance. Another Garcia memory is his performance at Coors Field. He gives up the patented 3-run homer in the first inning to Hawpe and it looked like it would be a long evening. 22 batters later, it was the 9th inning.

Seriously Juggs, could you sound any more whipped? This little reverse psychology "I'll show them by doing her homework" mentality has totally blinded you to the damage caused by your actions. How long can you spoil the child before she becomes dependent on Daddy doing her homework for her in order to function? By treating her to this little vacation from responsibility, you're just making it that much harder for her to take some when she needs to. If she got to you now by complaining about her high school social life, what's to say she won't come crawling back during college and beyond? I suggest you stop this at once and let a horrible semester GPA be her wake up call. I don't know if her school has any sort of academic probation or anything, but I hope she runs in some social circles where a sub 2.0 GPA would be a source of embarassment. I had a pretty "bad" semester during my sophomore year of high school which really did wonders for me in the long term. The knowledge that basically all my friends had done better than me in one particular class really became a source of motivation for the rest of my academic career. This doesn't work for everybody, but most anyone can find some sense of pride in doing well in at least one or two classes. I just hope that when you say "temporary", you are already weaning her off the Juggernaut Prep plan.

QUOTE(soxhawks @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) and my point was every team for the last 15 years teams have done it so i guess you missed it Oh, so the Seahawks are a progressive organization committed to breaking old "worn out" traditions of a bygone era? In that case, I tip my cap to the Seahawks for taking pause during their moment of jubilation having just won their first conference title in franchise history. Such an occurrence might certainly be a time a lesser team might decide to fall back on old ways and commit this senseless act of head coach drenching. Thank you for clearing that up. Or maybe they just forgot... (photo dated 12/24/05, note the visible smiles on a number of teammates' faces suggesting Tobeck did not act alone) -

QUOTE(soxhawks @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) the giants started it, not the 2005 steelers or any other team from the last 15 years for that matter My point was not that the Steelers started it but that teams still do it. I guess you missed it. -

Super Bowl XL: Steelers vs. Seahawks
DonkeyKongerko replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Seattle loses their 12th man and the Steelers defense is just too much for even Mike Holmgren's offensive schemes. Pittsburgh by at least 7. -

Apparently none of the Seahawks like Mike Holmgren enough to waste their Gatorade on him. -
Will Aaron Rowand and company be in attendance?

These games haven't been too exciting so far except maybe the end of last week's Steelers-Colts game. Hopefully Delhomme can get his act together and give us a ballgame here. -

Soxtalk personal attacks policy revisited

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 04:25 AM) Im a Tillman fan..... but right now he deserves all the personnel attacks he gets Personnel attacks are ok, except for Soxtalk personnel which is an especially heinous crime punishable by death. -
Whatever movie wins, I predict at least 5 movie snobs on here will tell us why it's not a good movie.

Deploderer, have you considered working for Google? I'm sure you can do better than this:

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) That sounds cool. I'm actually getting ready to put together a radio show with Mario (Molto) and would love to be able to do that sort of stuff. You got a link that would explain how I could do it? And ya, I just started using podcasts about a week ago. I like em Yeah, there was podcast (or vodcast) that I watched recently that detailed setting up your own podcast. Check out Systm episode 4, they use this free program called Audacity. As far as Skype goes, I think the easiest way is using two computers and just lining out the audio from the Skype computer to the computer with Audacity. There are probably other ways to do this, but I haven't looked into it.

The Colts and Bears need to play an exhibition next week to settle all the bad blood around here. -
QUOTE(zenryan @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) The Bears were finally exposed today. Their defense has been overrated since day 1. I knew they were a 1 and done team come playoff time If you knew it, you should be out celebrating after betting your life savings on the Panthers.

Google video has tons of CBS programming as well now. Their layout still sucks. IPTV is in our future. But everything will be DRMed so there will be almost no way to copy, edit or distribute it.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) ok great - i don't trust downloading that s***... is it going to give me spyware up the ass? No, just make sure it's an active torrent with tons of leechers and a good number of seeders. It just downloads an .avi to your computer, no spyware there.

Seattle sorta has a Houston Astro-esque history of never getting to the championship. Then again if Houston can make the Series, I guess Seattle has a shot at the Super Bowl.

He shouldn't have said what he said, but Pittsburgh did put alot of pressure on him today. I think Peyton was also rusty after the long layoff. -
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) f*** Steve Smith and Jack Delhomme, you will be on the couch after next weekend. I wouldn't be so sure about that. They sorta have that White Sox road team mojo working right now.
