QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:27 PM)
Not unless the Orioles make a comeback.
I still have faith.
A win tonight will clinch that the Sox will be playing more than 162 games this year.
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:13 PM)
Are you sure? From the main angle, I thought it just barely got past his glove. If I'm wrong on it, I apologize.
It was in his glove but he lost it on the pull back.
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:11 PM)
Granderson never touched that ball. He made a tremendous catch much tougher than that against Perralta a few weeks ago.
Um, he touched it quite a bit. Fondled it even.
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:08 PM)
Anyone here still laughing at Hawk for always saying "Don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit?"
Tell me whether you hit at all.
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:01 PM)
5 of his last 6 at bats according to Rooney have been groundouts to short. Wow. That's amazing. How do you hit it to short every damn time?
Foul off all the inside pitches and pull every outside pitch.

It's the 3rd inning.
We've left 10 men on base all ready.
LOB is usually counted as a team stat. So you can only leave a maximum of 3 runners on base per inning.
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 06:35 PM)
we've all seen instances of guys not coming through.
that's not what we saw in the top of the second.
that was just hitting in bad luck
I agree, anyone who calls our top of the 2nd inning corpseball doesn't know what corpseball is.
Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone must have sold their souls a long time ago. Every year seems like the year New York or Philly or Florida will overtake them. It's just too easy for them.
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:15 PM)
I was proven wrong and I am quite surprised. The mods can delete this now.
I say leave it up, eventually some troll or someone will pick #2 but I think it serves as a reminder that we all do want the Sox to succeed despite our criticisms. A playoff berth is success compared to going home after game #162.
