  1. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) I'll be surprised if Fulmer made it. I will Collins and Burdi will be in the 70-100 range. Might be fun to make some predictions. I'll go ahead and say Collins is #52, Burdi is #73, Fulmer is #89.
  2. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 09:00 PM) Here we go again, I was approached for another trade. This time I am offered Landry for Latavius Murray. I feel like I should do it, considering Murray is just my flex player, and I have Crowell to flex instead, but Murray going off for 200 yards and 3 TD kind of makes me wonder if I can sell his value even higher. Or should I just take Landry and run before he changes his mind? Trade accepted. Latavius Murray for Jarvis Landry.
  3. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) BA also recorded a podcast talking about the White Sox top 10 and their farm system in general. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/whit...s5eJIBQE8VVU.97 They basically made it seem like Spencer Adams is a fringey top 100 guy, probably just misses it. So that likely means that Collins, Burdi, and Fulmer all make it, which probably isn't much of a surprise.
  4. Rymer's .486 OBP is the most exciting number, IMO.
  5. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) It makes Jeff Hostetler look good. And his brother Nick even better!

  7. I had Elliot, Gordon, and Murray all combine for 83 points. 83 beats a handful of teams in our league. Unfortunately for me, I had Murray (30) on my bench. I'm down by 7.6 going in to tomorrow with Baldwin and Seahawks D left, to his 0 remaining. I should take this victory as long as the Bills offense doesn't go off and put up 40+. If I can get a win on the week I had Brady and Gronk on BYE, I'll be pretty delighted.
  8. Ugh, SNL. I don't have anywhere to hide from the Cubs.
  9. MLBTradeRumors suggested that the Angels may be in on Sale. I'm finding it hard to figure out a trade match with them, considering their farm system is historically bad. I suppose you would immediately start with RF Kole Calhoun and a prospect package of 1B Matt Thiass, OF Jahmai Jones, C Taylor Ward, and LHP Nate Smith, although none of those are even top 100 prospects, but happen to be 4 of the top 5 that the Angels have. Just doesn't seem like a fit.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 05:55 PM) What if we did something along the lines of Yelich, Realmuto + from the Marlins? You're certainly helping the offense with those two guys, but both are below average defensively. Realmuto actually seems good with the defense, but horrendous with the pitch framing. I am talking worse than Navarro.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) I actually think the opposite is true. Everyone is so focused on the Cubs right now that it's the perfect time for the Sox to tear everything down if they choose to do so. All the casual fans are rooting for the Cubs right now anyway, so the Sox are an afterthought right now to everyone besides die-hard Sox fans. If the Sox play their cards right, they could have a young core and be in contention like the Cubs by 2018 or 2019. I agree with this, except probably more like 2019 or 2020. But yeah, the team is at rock-bottom in terms of casual fans, so now is a good time to regroup.
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 06:26 AM) Doing daddy proud. Gooooooood, gooooooooooood.
  13. Collins went 0-2 on Thursday with a BB. He is batting only .235, but has a .435 OBP thanks to 6 BB and only 5 K.
  14. Lechich went 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 K, 2 BB, and picked off one of his walks.
  15. QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) And, we could watch him strike out all season long. Career 16.4% strikeout hitter, and a 16.7% strikeout last season. That's real solid for a 20+ HR bat. In fact, it would have been 3rd best on our team, BARELY behind Eaton at 16.4%. The dude doesn't hit for average anymore, and his walks are down, but Ks are not and were not ever a problem for him.
  16. Picked up Hooper at the last minute to replace Jack Doyle since Gronk is on a bye. That worked out nicely for me.
  17. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 11:09 AM) And i'm still not sure how the park works, which is still sort of bothersome. We keep getting these episodes where Delores is talking to William or whatever, and then it cuts to her being interviewed. That has to be on a different timeline. Same with the prostitute. And her storyline is weird because it seems like that whorehouse is a common stop for all the guests, but if she's being shot every night and fixed, wouldn't guests have a period of time where she's not around? Do they use doubles? I wouldn't think so if the point is that the hosts are remembering things. How the park works is my biggest "gripe" with the show. How do the bullets work? What stops one guest from killing another? How does one guest even identify another guest? How long are the guests in the park for? Obviously longer than 1 day, but a week? Can they just stay indefinitely and pay a giant bill when they get out? Where do all these guests sleep? Especially when the hosts start every day the same way, wouldn't it totally confuse them if they woke up next to a guest? Obviously the park has to be shutdown at night for them to clean up all the hosts and their scenes for the next day, so do the guests all have to go to some waiting area overnight? I need like an entire episode dedicated to how this park operates and it's rules, because I hate just accepting everything blindly.
  18. I'm a big fan of that Quintana trade. Someone over at SSS pointed out Houston being a good trade target, and Bregman is obviously super interesting. Also saw someone there mention Billy Hamilton and that seemed like a pretty good, realistic option.
  19. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) Tutoring? I had friends in college and post college that tutored as a supplement and made bank (depending on the family of the student). This would have to be like a full 40 hour job though. She is a full time student and needs a full time job to afford to live on her own.
  20. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 01:30 AM) Well we save $18 mill alone from Turner/Rollins/Albers/Garcia/Avila/Latos/Navarro. Guys who were hot garbage. Maybe you bring Avila back at like $1-2 mill. $10 mill in mostly dead money from Austin Jackson/Duke. And $16 mill in dead money from Danks. That's $44 mill saved. 2017 Roster Moves: Shields (replaces Danks) at $12 mill Tilson (replaces Austin Jackson) at Chapman (replaces Duke) at $15 mill Turner/Latos replaced with Fulmer at Avila retained/replaced with FA catcher at ~1-3 mill Navarro replaced with Narvaez at Rollins replaced with Anderson at Garcia replaced with Cespedes at 25 mil Albers replaced with Ynoa/Kahnle at The replacements would cost around $57 mill. That's only bumping up the payroll $12-13 mill to make two elite signings while putting faith in some of your existing players. Don't forget to add in increases in payroll from guys like Melky ($1M), Abreu ($1M), Robertson ($1M), Sale ($3M), Frazier ($6M), Quintana ($2.25M), Eaton ($1.25M), Jones ($1M), and others who are arb eligible. That's $16.5M from those 8 guys I just listed.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 12:58 AM) Totally agree, and was also happy it wasn't Strop or Arrieta on the mound. Also was happy it wasn't a homer that scored winning run I don't have a problem with Arrieta. But yeah, Strop nailing it down would have enraged me.
  22. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 01:08 AM) I think if they are going to spend you need elite talent rather than shuffle the deck chairs with more 3rd tier signings. Have faith in some of your existing players like Narvaez and Saladino to handle a bigger role and players like Shields to rebound (although I doubt that one, but they did trade for him when no one else wanted him). To be fair, his plan was for a rebuild. He only signed those players to field a competitive team (a motive I disagree with) and to possibly flip them in July for prospects (which I absolutely agree with). He wasn't adding those players to make a playoff run.
  23. My girlfriend needs a job that pays better than a Server gets paid, preferably is a job working with kids, and is flexible around college classes. Anyone got any ideas? She's living paycheck to paycheck right now and is short on rent some months.
  24. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 12:52 AM) I'd rather get 2 elite players (Chapman and Cespedes) for $40-45 mill (with an extra $10-15 mill spent) than cover another hole or 2 with lesser players. We are better off taking the chance on a few guys taking the next step like Narvaez improving or Shields rebounding than tie up money with a few extra 3rd tier signings. That gives us the best chance to build an elite lineup and pitching staff that can win a world series. Which plan are you referring to? And adding $40-45 isn't even close to realistic. You can add one of those guys, although I don't know why you would want to add Chapman when Kenley Jansen is just as good, but likable, as far as I know.
  25. Now their lovable loser narrative is finally over and they can just be another team like the Red Sox have become.
