  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) It's similar to a "booth review" in the NFL, the umpires can call it. So the managers can still come out and say "Hey guys, go review this" the only difference is they can say "Naah"??? Because I doubt there would be any review if Gardy never came out.
  2. Why does Gardenhire get a challenge? It's after the 6th inning.....Plus, was the ball not thrown in to 2B just in case? Should be an out either way, all the would change is the runner.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Jason Parks of BP absolutely loves Tim Anderson. In his most recent chat, he said he would be in his top 50 now. Through my TuneIn Radio app, I listen to Fangraphs Audio and Fringe Average Baseball (Jason Parks) podcasts. Surprisingly they mention the White Sox system a lot on both shows. If anyone wants to hear some info on guys, check out those podcasts. In a recent Fangraphs Audio podcast, Nathan Stoltz was interviewed and since he lives in Winstom-Salem, he spent a large amount of time going over White Sox prospects. They talked about Marcus Semien and how he is a rare prospect that has no loud tool, but is above average at almost everything. And yes, I've heard Jason Parks rave about Tim Anderson on the podcast as well. I forget who he compared him to as a prospect. Addison Russell maybe?
  4. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) Don't cry if you don't understand the rule. Ok, bud. Please, educate me on how I was wrong, and feel free to not be so pretentious about it.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) I'm not too thrilled with Semien thus far. He's had one solid hit thus far and hasn't looked particularly good at the plate. It's still early, but I don't see Semien getting PT over Beckham when Gordon's back. You just wait, Semien will be lashing line drives all over the place in due time. I don't care if Beckham ever comes back, and I wore my Beckham jersey on Monday.
  6. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) Can't block plate per new rules. Yes, but you can stand on the backside of it or right out to the side of it, just as long as the runner has a direct path to the plate. Flowers was 5 feet in front of the plate catching that strike from Eaton.
  7. What the f*** is Tyler doing not catching that ball at home plate and tagging Kubel? Sure it would have been close, but it was a perfect throw..... What a jackass.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:53 PM) I love seeing this team sustain innings instead of depending on the homer. So far that is 7 runs in 9.1 innings of offense, without a single home run. What?
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 12:44 PM) I'm thinking Paulino has a real solid game today. I'll ahead and throw out a line... 6 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5K. Pitch count will remove him from the game early. Welp, unless Dozier hits in to a DP here....this line may be in trouble.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:28 PM) Garcia's D during ST was s***ty too I disagree.
  11. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:26 PM) That would have been a summer DONG Looked like a bomb off the bat.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) You have no idea what you are talking about here is most accurate. Yes sir, sorry sir.
  13. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:15 PM) Good start for Paulino, throwing strikes. 13 pitches 8 strikes thus far. Gives up a hit on a softly hit ball. And of the 5 he missed on, he rifled 4 of them in to the dirt. lol
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 01:10 PM) Because trolling isn't bringing the same conversation that has gotten about 10 threads closed over the last month into yet another thread where it wasn't being discussed, in search of nothing else than a reaction? Whoops, I forgot who I was talking back to. I'm sorry, you win.
  15. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) Sticking up for your fellow trolls I see. I see what you did there. *TipOfHat*
  16. Great, so I am going to miss both Kane and Toews next weekend when I go to Nashville. I guess it's a good thing I just bought a red Saad jersey, because it's mandatory to wear red at Nashville and St. Louis games.
  17. I'm thinking Paulino has a real solid game today. I'll ahead and throw out a line... 6 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5K. Pitch count will remove him from the game early.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 12:12 PM) I can't believe I am sticking up for Marty again, but how can you call his post trolling and not Balta's? Because most people don't even know what trolling means, but throw around the stigma anyway to discredit someone.
  19. C, and it depends who they are. I hope Addison Reed does great. I hope Hector Santiago does great. I hope Nick Swisher fails miserably. I couldn't care less what Matt Thornton does. I couldn't care less what Jake Peavy does. Examples like that.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 1, 2014 -> 07:27 AM) Between that trailer and TMNT, its a bad week I don't own an iPad, or any of the other apple devices that movie is pushing, but if all the devices are synced up, then wouldn't deleting it off the "master" device mean they would all sync up again and the video would be deleted?
  21. I throw my 2 worthless cents in for the HIMYM finale. I say worthless because I don't watch the show, but I've seen enough to know the characters and their basic traits. I liked the ending. I thought it was a little cold to kill the mother off so quickly, but at least it was not something they showed, or harped on too long. The kids just casually said that "She's been gone for 6 years now", and it wasn't as morbid. One thing I was guessing may happen was that the twist at the end would bet that the birth mom would die when the kids were very young, and then Robin would really be their mother figure as the kids grew up, so that way the "How I Met Your Mother" meant birth mom in the literal sense, and/or their accepted mom in the nurture sense. The only problem with that is that the kids would have picked up by now that Robin (which would be a fake name Ted used in his story) and their mother figure would have the same background story and the kids would have put 2 and 2 together. Another thing I was expecting to see was Bob Saget in some capacity at the end. Either him narrating the final scene, or him having a cameo at the end.
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) Yeah, Avi with four horrible at bats, still ends up 2 for 4 somehow. That's discouraging because it makes me think he'll never change. But f*ck yeah to everything else. The 2 outs he made were bad ABs. The broken bat single he had was lucky. But what was wrong with that single he smashed up the middle? He almost took the pitcher's leg off on that rocket.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) For all the slider speed bat comments, he's been remarkably quick to the ball. The single he hit, he was able to quickly pull his hands and drop the head of the bat to make solid contact instead of rolling over the top of it...and pulling it weakly on the ground, like Semien did in the bottom of the 1st. I was going to say that too. That hit was way more impressive to me than that rope double he hit. On the single to LF he pulled his hands in and somehow was able to get on top of the ball enough to give it some topspin to the OF. That was all hands.
