5/5 games
Blair Walters maintaining that WHIP just over 1.00, and a sexy K/BB north of 3. Encouraging.

5/5/12 Sox vs Cats 3:05 CT
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 5, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) They are almost the same pitcher in terms of pitches and velocity. Both are fastball/slider guys. Reed's got more of a hard slider, Sale's is more curve-ball like. In The Show, I changed the "sweeping curve" they gave him to a "slurve" which I think fits him more appropriately.

5/5/12 Sox vs Cats 3:05 CT
With the way this game has gone, I am betting on some soft of jam shot hit or deflected infield hit where Raburn is able to come around and score. We are going to get f***ed somehow.

Scott Merkin is saying it was measured at 422 ft. I am thinking that's almost 50 feet too short. I'll wait for hittrackeronline to post it.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 5, 2012 -> 04:50 PM) Paulie makes it a game. Gaving has looked good since giving up those runs. He looked good AS he was giving up those runs. Gavin has been on point all game. It could very easily be a 1-0 Sox lead right now, but the Tigers got some stupid luck for a whole inning and got some cheap runs.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 04:21 PM) McCarver is brutal, of course. Can Verlander just be a Fox announcer on his off days? He was great during that interview. Verlander is a very likable person. One of my favorite pitchers.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 5, 2012 -> 03:48 PM) I'm honestly saying that there is a real possiblity the Sox don't score today...and if they do score it will be 1 or 2. That is laying down. I can't watch the body language anymore. I'm turning on the radio feed. It will make me less angry. Max is also looking pretty awesome today. Tons of movement on everything. Breaking news, Fielder bloops a single to CF. I am honestly just laughing now how comical these f***ing hits have been. I feel like we are getting Minnesota Twin'd right now.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 5, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) One of the major reasons that I'm ready for a complete blow up of this team is all the damn hanging heads and mental midgets. Blown saves happen. GTF over it and play baseball. Sox out there playing like the bad stretch is just gonna cure itself. I was really hoping to see less of this in 2012. But no. Sox are 2-6 since Santiago's blown save, and now laying down today. Disgraceful. There are 162 freaking games. Gotta be able to bounce back. Are you honestly trying to say that we are having terrible luck because of a blown save last night? Because that's how the Sox are losing right now. Terrible luck.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) He short-armed the dive, and did the one thing you cannot let happen, which is have the ball get into the outfield. Well obviously he short-armed it, considering it went off the tip of his mitt, but that's not a player you expect every 3B to make, again, hence why it's not an error. You may as well be livid with Alexei for not making that play on the first single where he slid to knees and couldn't come up w/ the throw.
-
5/5/12 Sox vs Cats 3:05 CT
How are you guys ripping Morel for not making a diving play? That s*** is not an error for a reason. He had to DIVE to get it, and just couldn't come up with it. It's disappointing, but not something you rip a player for, Jesus.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 5, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Embarrassing. Detroit has all the momentum after last night and Sox laying down. That s*** homestand coupled with a lousy road trip is about right for this team. This isn't the Sox being bad, this is the insane amount of luck the Tigers are getting right now. Floyd looks fine. The defense looks fine. It is just a f***ton of bad luck right now with this s*** hits and little dinkers. They pretty much have 5 infield singles right now for 2 runs.

5/5/12 Sox vs Cats 3:05 CT
OMG, unreal. 5 f***ing s***ty hits now. That ball went off Morel and Alexei. This is just f***ing stupid.
