QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) It might have been close, still was the right call IMO. Oh, it would have been close, but Hawk made it seem like he would have been out easily. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) nah, they're just showing extreme patience. No, I am just saying that's the only reason he was ever on this team, because of his defense. -

No Hawk....De Aza would have been safe. That ball rolled in to home. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Crud. Viciedo has to keep that in front of him. The ball wasn't hit in front of him. It was getting by him no matter what. The key was that he held him to a double, and not a triple. It was a good effort. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) I was waiting for it...took Hawk 13 pitches to say the "the more pitches you see, the more dangerous you get line". I don't really believe in that, because hitters eventually just get in to swing mode and are going to try and make contact with anything. There is a no doubt a long AB is in favor of the hitter, but because of the pitch count, not really the likely success of an at-bat. -

f*** you Shelly Duncan. He pops it up, but he won that AB big time. 13 pitches? f*** that. -

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 8, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) I'm not usually this negative, but I have to point something out: Has anyone else noticed that we're experiencing the elusive "bounce back" seasons from our scapegoats Dunn/Rios/Peavy and are still below .500? I was firmly on the side of "this team could win the Central in the unlikely event that everyone played well," but now that it's unfolding before me, I'm being forced to realize that this just isn't that great of a team. Of course, I planned on Sale being a breakout SP and on Danks being better than Luke Hochevar, but there was no way that EVERYONE was going to work out. Yeah, but everyone also assumed Sale would be in the rotation all year, Danks would be very good, Humber would be solid again, Reed would be closing out ballgames, and Morel would be hitting better. Yeah, we got the huge turn arounds from Peavy and Dunn, and decent production from Rios, but holes are appearing where we didn't expect them to. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 8, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) I always have said Youk disgusts me for some reason, but if he were a White Sox, I would love him. I just don't see how you get anyone to take Alex Rios unless you're throwing in so much money you might as well keep him. Dumping Rios was just wishful thinking. The only teams who would probably take him would have to be teams with tons of monies, and although the Red Sox have a terrible outfield now, they will get Ellsbury and Crawford back eventually. If Rios was in his final year, it would have been a really good swap IMO, but not with him having 2 years left after this one. -
My best friend just bought a cock-a-poo puppy. Named it Upton (he is a big Dbacks fan, but probably loves Kate Upton too). He paid $850 for the thing. Jesus. I can't imagine ever paying that much for a dog, or at least not while I am a college kid.

Something I was thinking about today. On MLB Network they were talking about how when Youkilis comes off the DL, he will likely have lost his job to Will Middlebrook and 3B, and the Red Sox will probably try and move Youk. He has got about $10M left on his deal, prorated. I wonder if the Red Sox kicked in like half the contract or so, if Kenny would try and go after Youk. Or maybe try and get creative and offer a Rios for Youk kind of deal, with the WSox throwing in a big chunk of money. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:53 AM) I thought the same thing. Every major drama now HAS to have a gay storyline. And this one didn't even make sense. That was incestual right? Or was he just a family friend? Season 2 has been better than one for sure. I thought it was incest until Mikoletto said "this is where my father is buried" or some s*** like that, so it made me think maybe they didn't share the same father. Could have half brothers I guess. I didn't really pick up on why that guy was with his mom.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) The Killing - Yeah, seemed oddly risky to me too. In other news, we got no closer to getting an answer about who done it. The writer said that this case gets wrapped up in S2 and a new case starts. I'll be sorely disappointed if that means this gets solved with 10 minutes left of the S2 finale, and then in the final minutes they show the beginning of the next case.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 06:40 PM) Randy Moller, the Florida Panthers guy.. I absolutely love him, he says random pop-culture quotes whenever the panthers score.. Very refreshing Randy Moller Goal Calls I've heard some of these before. Hilarious!

Bob Costas is my favorite for anything. Also, I love Pat Foley,Pat Hughes, and Al Michaels. Also, Orel Hershieser.

Come on Borgias, why does every show I watch have to end up having scenes with dudes banging! I'm really loving S2 though. The storyline w/ Lucrezia and Julia and the mom is kind of boring me. But I love Cesare and Micoletto (sp?) going around kicking ass.

QUOTE (danman31 @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:39 AM) He was very good at Baylor. As for why he's not top 100: age and RP. Age is the only reason I can see. Hell, even Addison Reed was #66 going in to the year. -

Ok, why have I never heard of this guy before? And how is he not ranked in BA's top 100? http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=tolles001sha Video game numbers right there. Drafted in the 30th RD, yet he has dominated since the day he got drafted. How does that happen?
