  1. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Mar 25, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) How about the Lilli Stealth Elf Bridge? Sure, go for it.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 25, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) LB? Has that nickname been approved by Joe Cool Man? At first, I was like LB...? Shouldn't it be BL? Then, it made sense, LilliBridge, but it took a second. Good thing he's not from Long Beach or he would be LB from LB. People can use whatever nickname they would like, this isn't communist China. I for one, use The Bridge.
  3. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 10:39 PM) Yeah, lame answers. However, how do you know that Viciedo is going to end up in RF? A lot can happen in a couple of years. Ok, well the "plan" is to have Viciedo is RF, or at least it should be. He has a cannon arm, no need to throw that arm in LF. Now, of course, if we acquire a good defensive RF with a great arm, then that's fine, but you shouldn't plan on your future hoping to acquire a position, you should fill it with your minor leaguers until something comes up.
  4. Anyone watch Breakout Kings? It's an episodic show, but I find it really entertaining, especially Lloyd.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) What was your question? My question was, why move Viciedo away from RF when he is going to end up there in a couple years when Rios leaves anyway? Let the kid learn a position. DJ's answer was that Rios has more trade value in RF than in LF. lol. Like that matters at all at this point. Then he also said it's better if Viciedo is more versatile and can learn as many positions as he can, rather than just stay in one spot. Dumb, dumb answers.
  6. Ha, Farmer, DJ, and Rongey just read my question on the air, they are discussing it now.
  7. Got called up to AAA. In AA, I batted .233, 25 2B, 9 HR, 68 RBI, 20 SB in 112 games.
  8. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) No DH but Viciedo at DH. Huh? Sometimes an NL team will decide to make their pitcher bat, instead of using a DH. I saw it a few weeks ago when I went to the Pirates/Blue Jays game.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 12:30 AM) Stoney and Hawk hinting at Reed taking the closer spot. At some point in the year, absolutely. But I think Robin will give the veterans a chance first.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 10:51 PM) You're dead to me. Hah. I just don't like how every episode is a story within itself. I prefer shows that don't start with a story/case, and then resolve it at the end of the hour. I think my buddy told me that S3 breaks away from that structure, but I'm still a the beginning of S2. Let me just put it this way, it took me almost 3 weeks to get through 1 season. It took me about 3 days to get through the first 2 seasons of Breaking Bad, and about a week to go through the first 4 seasons of Dexter. I get to the end of each episode and I rarely find myself saying "Oh s***, what is going to happen next!". I usually just watch the show when I am bored in my apartment and want to kill some time.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Joba wasn't even supposed to pitch til mid-season and that was gonna be in the bullpen Their rotation is 7-deep now: CC, Pineda, Kuroda, Nova, Hughes, Garcia, Petitte Oh ok, then I stand corrected. I was under the impression that Joba was already in their rotation.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 06:42 PM) You don't get it. START GETTING HITS. YOU GET HITS THEN THEY ARE SCARED AND THROW BALLS. I know, I understand this and it's something I have already mentioned, I am just showing WiteSoxfan that it's not that easy to draw walks when all they do is throw you strikes. He made it seem like I don't know how to lay off of balls, or that I can't figure out how to draw a walk. I was trying to prove my point that it doesn't matter if I foul 8 pitches off, because they continue to pound the zone.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) They actually have plenty of pitching depth now with Pettitte. Added Pettitte, but then just lost Joba for the year. So back to where they were pre-Pettitte.
  14. Got my AVG up to about .238, and then hit a huge slump. Dropped down to .220, and then after going 3/4 with 3 SB, I got it up to .227. Then the Cubs traded me to the Mets for Mark Reynolds. Now I'm on the Binghamton Mets in AA.
  15. Plan on seeing THG next week. My friends saw it and they said even though it obviously had to leave out stuff that the book had, it was still very good and didn't leave anything too glaring out.
  16. What the hell. I just had a 14 pitch at bat, and 11 of them were in the strike zone. I was purposefully early on all of them to pull them foul. Ended up accidentally hitting the 14th pitch fair, so I never got the walk. See what I'm saying? I can't get a walk to save my life, even if I try to hit every strike foul.
  17. So when do the Floyd to Yankees rumors start again?
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) You'd think someone would have picked him up as a back up. He could have made a few more millions I would think. Take way the boneheaded plays last year in the Broncos game and he wasn't all that bad. What a fall from grace he has been. He was pretty damn solid with the Cowboys not too many years ago.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) So you've adopted the Brian Anderson school of hitting. No wonder you suck. Lol, well what am I supposed to do?
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) I have season 1 of Justified at home on Blockbuster dvds and have been recording season 2 all year. Can't wait to start! It's decent. I just started S2 last night.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 03:04 AM) First of all, drawing 1 walk in 3 weeks of playing time is terrible, I don't care if you're playing The Show or 2k. Watch the pitch from the pitchers hand, like any professional baseball player does. The split second after it releases from his hand, you know where the ball is generally going, and you have time to make a judgment. Yeah, I know how to read the pitch out of his hand. But as I said, my problem isn't being able to lay off balls, my problem is the pitchers don't throw me balls in the first place. Whenever I have the goal of walking, I take every pitch until I get to 2 strikes. And usually that means it starts 0-2 or 1-2. Then my only hope is to foul off some pitches because they continue to pound the zone. I can count on 1 hand the amount of 3-ball counts I have gotten in to. Yeah, I could try and foul off every pitch that is thrown right down the middle, but it's too tempting to not want to just smash that pitch up the middle for a hit. And I figure, if I raise my average enough, and blast enough home-runs, the pitchers will probably be more selective with me anyone, and THEN I will start to draw the walks. I'm up to about .240 now with 6 HR, maybe 40 RBI, and 13 SB at the beginning of June.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) Why send him down? Yeah, I wouldn't send him down either, but I'm sure he has the options. I am pretty sure he has played in the bigs ever since his June 2009 call-up.
  23. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) He can play all infield positions with the exception of 1B. And play them all pretty well (or so I've heard).
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Escobar single. If they don't care about him playing everyday, I'm all for him making the team. I like his energy. I just don't think he is a good enough prospect to warrant "playing every day" and being protected. Escobar is rather marginal, and he will help this 2012 Sox team more than Dan Johnson will, so bring him up. This isn't Viciedo or Mitchell or Thompson we are talking about here, guys who needed to play every day somewhere. Escobar just isn't that valuable to mortgage the 2012 bench spot for.
  25. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) I'm doing well so far in my 4th year. Over .320 average, 15 home runs and about 50 RBIS before the all star break. Although I am using sliders to my advantage. I've really learned to be patient at the plate, it is extremely important. Are you in the majors?
