  1. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) I know it's only spring training, but can't wait for the game! Oh me too! Although I probably won't be able to watch any of the game, since I will probably be sitting in the seats at the Marlins/Cardinals game.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) I'm gonna give it a go. My only problem is the conclusion can only be that he's dead or in a coma right? Anything else and it would be kinda silly. Yeah, that's the only thing I'm worried about. The outcome HAS to be that he is dead/coma, but I guess the fun part of the show is watching how it all unfolds or comes together. I don't know, I liked the pilot, so I will keep watching.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) The series premiere of AWAKE is getting top notch reviews. DVRed It's been on Hulu for a while not. It's pretty good.
  4. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 10:50 PM) I look forward to Bill Melton's superb broadcasting of the WhiteSox.com internet games this spring once again. "Uhh...This...uhh....Cowsuck Fookerdomie" "Lester Moliner" "Adialon Reed" "Edward Escobeard"
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 09:25 AM) Trayce Thompson My god, Trayce has legs for days. He kind of has Rios body type, at least in that image.
  6. Yeah, I don't think a baseball announcer for a specific team should be lauded for being a "homer". It's HIS team. Only fans of the Sox generally listen to Hawk. He is not catering to the opponent, they have their own announcers. That being sad, Hawk is still not very good. He rambles, talks about the past way too much, and uses old and weird metaphors for lots of things. It's unfair that Steve Stone was lumped in to this "rating". If it was list the best 60 broadcasters, Steve Stone would probably be top 10, but being paired with Hawk will drive his "value" WAYYYYYYYY down.
  7. I'm sad to see Scott go. I know he was a big doofus who had no idea what to do with a puck on his blade, but he was entertaining to say the least when he was pummeling opponents with his giant ham fists.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) Oduya to the Hawks for a 2nd and 3rd in 2013. Seems too much to give up for a #5 or #6 dman who is a FA in less than 30 games.
  9. BSU is 1-4. Lol. Team is almost completely freshman and sophomores, so they are expected to be awful.
  10. Why put his cannon arm in LF? Yeah, Rios is probably a better defender, but I can't help but think once Rios is gone, Viciedo will be placed back in RF anyway, so might as well let him learn the position for a few years while this team won't be very good.
  11. Rumors are that the Hawks are about to acquire a Dman. Johnny Oduya is rumored to be the guy, but Dennis Wideman's name is also being thrown out there.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) That's a lot of X-Box games. At least he has a lot of time to hone his Guitar Hero skills.
  13. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) He was drafted as an IF and came up as one in the minors. SS was supposed to be his strongest position Right. I am pretty sure he is a natural SS/2B. I'm just saying, when I've seen him play there, he didn't seem to good, or at least not nearly as good as he looks in the OF. And considering Escobar is supposed to be a defensive wiz, we might as well stick him as our backup IF.
  14. Just to try and keep all the pictures in one place, here is the pic of a slimmer Adam Dunn.....
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Well, the one other thing you can say is that the more positions he's the primary backup @, the more at bats he'd be in a position to get...and getting him at bats, after last year, does seem like a useful proposition. True, but I can't see Alexei getting a whole lot of days off either. Assuming Lillibridge is the backup at all 3 OF positions and 1B, I am sure he will get a very solid amount of at-bats this year, and probably more than last year.
  16. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) For comparison's sake, this is what he looked like on September 27 http://cache4.asset-cache.net/xc/127410724...3435CB362D63EEE and on White Sox photo day exactly one year ago: http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/109455842...5CC0BE0431EBC30 Neither of those links work. And damn, you guy beat me to it w/ this thread.
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) This is a great idea. Eh, I disagree. From what I remember of The Bridge in the IF, he wasn't too comfortable. He is so good in the OF, that I would rather Escobar just be in backup IF, especially at SS.
  18. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) Victor broke his wrist yesterday. Likely to miss the entire season. Someone make a draft thread already! Oh okay, so he will be our 2nd RD pick then.
  19. My roommie and I are all caught up on Parks and Rec.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 25, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) ruh roh And injury plagued season with multiple injuries? Well that doesn't sound redundant at all.
  21. Mjaybe im just drunk, but haven;t I heard that eh Sox have the most expensive team-sanctioned parking in the majors?
  22. I know I shouldn't fall in to the fluff, but I am REALLY started to get excited about Chris Sale. Him saying he wants to pitch 200 innings scares me, but every quote I have seen is just gushing over him.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 02:40 PM) He made the cover of ESPN the mag with his model wife.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 03:24 PM) 5 months is about 22 weeks, yeah? So 2.5 to 3 pounds a week is what it takes. That actually can be done with diet and exercise changes, if you are overweight and spend a lot of time doing the right things. Put another way, that is probably a 7500 calorie net loss per week (or a thousand per day), in combined lowered eating and added exercise burn. if he was consuming 2500 calories a day and not really exercising, then went on a weight watchers or other program to be at 1500-2000 a day plus exercise, boom, you are there. Definitely on the high side, but not impossible. Hey, you shut up with your facts and logic. If we choose to believe it was magic, then damnit, it was magic!
  25. QUOTE (juddling @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 06:17 PM) It's always a matter of personal taste but IMO Justified and Fringe are two of the best written shows on tv. Breaking Bad, IMO.
