I really don't think Pham is going to replace Grichuk in LF against lefties. He might replace Braden in the starting lineup but I doubt it. They want him to get those at bats I'd imagine for his growth. Also then your outfield defense is pretty horrible. Pham is likely just to give them another right handed hitter option off the bench to play matchup games with in later innings.

I'm checking these threads out for Bonemer and Thorpe mostly. Wish there was more pitching to pay attention to.

He killed us on the Twins IIRC, so maybe we're just acquiring every guy who's hit us well at some point? Otherwise I'm guessing this is for AAA.

Houston is 5-5 in their last 10, -43 run differential. Sox should be able to at least split this series, assuming their offensive difficulties don't carry over from the last two games against the Twins. They are going to need to score runs early and often to take some of the pressure of the pitching.

Yeah, but the guys you'd count on to be strikeout pitchers (Burke, Urquidy & Castillo are all above 9 SO/9 with the Sox) have been unable to put anyone away in recent starts. The guys without big stuff (Kay and Fedde) have been our best pitchers.

Yeah, foul balls and borderline takes not going our way have been a routine theme with our starters lately. Either our pitch sequencing is totally atrocious, or hitters are sitting fastball and getting away with it because they don't have to worry about any of our starters' offspeed pitches.

I didn't want Suarez until I saw "Acuna". Now I do - Suarez could back up Vargas at third and DH. Lineup against lefties would be: Grichuk LF Doyle CF Montgomery RF Vargas/Suarez 3B Meidroth/Colson SS Antonacci/Meidroth 2B Murakami/Vargas 1B Suarez/Murakami/Grichuk DH Who cares they both suck C

Kremer's been pretty damn good with the Twins. Hopefully we see more of the Baltimore Kremer tonight.
