Yeah, for a while I was thinking the Sox had much better prospect depth than they have in the past, but it still seems like they're very thin. They need to get that Latin American pipeline moving really quick because I bet that's where a lot of the prospects Cleveland has are coming from.

Yeah cool let's add another one of those guys to the rotation with Adams. Except I'll bet on the guy who was a solid starter as recently as last year to find something over the guy who's probably a decent middle reliever at best, and I didn't even like the Castillo deal.

And he really didn't pay for it. Angels are really bad.

Yea that 1.5 WHIP over 4 innings is amazing. I'm sure he'll keep putting that many guys on base a game and not suffer from it. And no, Getz doesn't always make the right decisions, but he doesn't always make the wrong ones either. You really want to believe that Getz is so incompetent he'd trade a quality starting pitching prospect for garbage. It's way more likely Adams either is nothing special, or it took more than you assume to get Doyle because Colorado and other teams besides the Sox valued him.

Genao is a pretty good hitter. Guardians had 1st and 3rd two outs but luckily Hedges sucks.

If they have starters struggle like they have in the past two games they're in trouble because they can't hit their way to wins nearly as well as the Sox can.

Eventually you're gonna realize that Adams wasn't a viable starting option for the Sox. He would have been up here a while ago if he was.

Even though they came back yesterday, I like seeing the Guardians struggle with their starting pitching.

I think trading away Tatis, Semien and Bassitt for basically nothing broke Sox fan brains because the prospects traded at the deadline seldom amount to anything. I'd be shocked if Mason Adams becomes anything more than a decent long reliever. It should absolutely tell you something that the Sox are desperate for starting pitching and they still decided to trade him. All of their acquisitions were acquired with the future (draft pick - Gonzalez has been terrible since the trade) and next year (Brazoban, Castillo, Doyle) in mind as well. They didn't think going all in this year was wise given what they needed and what they had in the minors to go get it. I think that's the right call. This isn't saying you shouldn't be able to criticize what they've done either. I get grabbing Doyle and Brazoban. If they can get a decent platoon partner for Peters from Doyle that's a huge win. Just from defense alone you're looking at 2+ WAR from CF with those two, even if Peters's offense regresses. Brazoban hopefully returns from injury able to not give up a run every outing. Castillo I sure hope they can help him figure something out, and that's not a move I would've made, but I guess I see the rationale. Boston Smith is also likely a backup catcher at best, if he even sticks there, so I doubt they gave up much of anything.
