Pereira not looking bad since his return

Fair enough. Wonder what the Sox could have traded to equal Jax. Definitely no one in the bullpen. Houser for Bradley instead of Mead/Davitt/Peoples maybe? No idea if that was even on the table or if Tampa had their sights set on Jax.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Last 5 games Robert is positively Acunian - 2/19 (.105 BA), 1 BB, 3 SO, 1 RS, 0 RBI, 0 XBH, 1 GIDP

When you've been as bad offensively as the Sox have it all piles on like that.

Taj Bradley has been good for four starts and he was a well below average starter for 350 innings before that. I get that he's young and this was likely at least a solid trade that only cost a pretty good reliever, but if Taj started off terribly this year you wouldn't be bringing this up.

I'd be fine with that outcome

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
So you're saying the move is actually "No, MORE Benintendi!"

Some concerning signs but I'm waiting more than 17 games. I want to see what getting their "ideal" lineup out for a few months looks like. Probably not many more offensive reinforcements coming besides Hays (unless Braden Montgomery continues his hot streak), but I imagine Hagen Smith will be up at some point, and the bullpen will continue to shuffle until they find something that works. I still think 70-something wins is a likely outcome, but if they continue to be far off that pace even after getting healthy/getting promotions to MLB done then we'll know something isn't working.

4/14 Sox vs. Rays 6:40PM
I'm a bit worried about his inability to hit pitches on the outer half, but I think he'll adjust. The eye is great, and the power is legit.

I was about to say "how about another 3 run bomb?" But it's Acuna.

Slider/fastball/slider/fastball. Not predictable at all.

Murakami not hitting but still walking a ton. Feel like that’s a pretty good sign.

Nah, they’ll just be waiting for him to fail so they can jump all over him again. Look at this place when the Sox are winning a game. Lot of frequent posters who are silent.

Inning really turned around on that 2 strike fastball called to a guy clearly sitting fastball. Quero needs to help his pitcher better than that.

4/14 Sox vs. Rays 6:40PM
You guys are brutal on a pitcher with first MLB start jitters. Just relax. He’ll be alright.
-
4/14 Sox vs. Rays 6:40PM
I don’t know why you would call a fastball on a guy who was that early on the offspeed. He was obviously sitting fastball.

PCA is a big fat crybaby with a contract extension
Now I'm not even sure if his defense will carry him to 2+ WAR. That's brutal output over 300+ plate appearances for a guy who only has a couple good months at the plate in his career. He's only 24 so he could still improve, but "last in pretty much every hitting category in MLB" is not where you want to have to improve from.

Sosa must be really, really bad in the OF then. If the Blue Jays put him out there and he at least looks competent I'll join the mob so reserve a pitchfork for me. Until then I'll reserve judgement, because I don't think Sosa can play LF.
