  1. Comedy of errors
  2. Rest of the team can't hit anyway, so might as well play Colas in right for his defense and see if he can figure anything out at the plate.
  3. They had more than enough chances to score a bunch of runs. Can’t have half the lineup hitting .200 or below and expect to win.
  4. Wow an actual sac fly and not a dribbler or a strikeout
  5. BAH he had a pitch to hammer and was out in front.
  6. TA getting curved to death
  7. Jake back to swinging at balls and taking strikes
  8. Wolkow is 17 and hit most of these balls over 100 mph, including one at 109.9, with a wood bat. Nice short swing, too. He’s gonna be a monster if he can work out the swing and miss issues.
  9. Gio ain’t got it tonight
  10. So he's a no-bat DH then? Wonder who can use one of those...
  11. Don't need to help the pitcher that much. Grandal is bad enough on his own right now.
  12. This is the reverse score that I expected
  13. Putting the first two hitters on against this team is a bad idea
  14. Vaughn has no plate discipline anymore
  15. Burger heating up! That ball was CRUSHED
  16. Hey look at that a hitter who doesn't flail at everything once he's down 0-2 draws a ...walk? Is that what it's called? What an exciting new brand of baseball.
  17. Good start to the second half
  18. I mean... we still are, AND he blew a bunch of money irresponsibly. If the Sox didn't waste so many draft picks leading up to and during the "window", or were able to actually develop some of those players (eg Crochet as a starter), we might be in an entirely different spot right now. Or we'd at least have been under no illusion about a quick-ish path back to competitiveness.
  19. Dude, he has a back injury. The same thing that killed Crede's career. Maybe he's a dickhead or acts like he doesn't try, I have no idea, but I can absolutely tell you back injuries kill careers.
  20. RP are also the most volatile way to spend your money, as we've seen. It's not a sustainable path to winning. He'd be better off investing that money into drafting and player development. Just run with a tiny payroll, period.
  21. I don't think Chuck has any more insight than we do w/ Yoan. It's clear Moncada's back is fucked up. As other posters have said, back injuries can ruin a career. Why the Sox are so cagey about this I have no idea, but they've been that way with injuries for a while now. Eloy - maybe they're right. I also bet Eloy would look a lot more like the old Eloy if the team was winning.
  22. I've been beating the Harper drum since the banner with his name on it in the United Center. That was the point where the rebuild cracks started to show. I also don't doubt that Hahn is working with limits that hurt his ability to GM, but he's still squandered tons of money on relievers and terrible players, and our minor league system is awful and has no chance to reinforce the majors to keep the window open. That's all on him.
