  1. The guy is one injury after the other. It will never end until they can say goodbye to him at the end of the 2012 season. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) You realize he hasn't even been scratched from Thursday yet, right?
  2. Having this set in a little now, they would be absolutely stupid if they let him pick up a ball for ten days. Just shut him down, and start him over. Humber should start April 9th, and they should prepare him for that.
  3. ^ And with that, Peavy needs to shut up and go away until he's ready. Humber is the 5th starter as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Humber will take Peavy's place. He's definitely stretched out the most; doing the best.
  5. If anything now, they should push his first start back to April 9th. They don't need a 5th starter until then.
  6. I'm happy that Peavy hasn't had a blip until now, but wouldn't have made more sense just to give the three starts (4/9, 4/19, 4/24) to Humber, and have Peavy start his season on April 29th at home? I'm not saying that's what they should do now, but from the get-go, just plan for him to come back at the end of April.
  7. Rongey on the Score...same thing...Thursday not ruled out. I guess Peavy used the "shut down" phrase, but not accurate.

  9. With Peavy due to start on April 6th, they can afford to push him back to next weekend. Maybe minor league games on the 26th and 31st. Then be ready for April 6 at KC.
  10. Floyd vs Ely Sox: Pierre, Beckham, Dunn, Konerko, Rios, Quentin, Castro, Morel, Vizquel
  11. This probably deserves its own thread, but shouldn't the Sox seriously consider sending Chris Sale to the minors to be a starting pitcher? He's been bad this spring. Bad control. They're talking about him on the radio now, saying he's been down on himself. Wouldn't it be a good thing to send him down and get him 140 innings as a starter, and then have him ready to move into the rotation in 2012? I sure think so. I know they wanted to have a 3rd lefty to face Minnesota and Cleveland, but most of the division games are after the AS Break. If they need to make a move then, they can do it.
  12. Ozzie named Matt Thornton closer after today's game. I knew Rozner had it wrong. Now...could Sale get sent down between now and 3/31?
  13. Infante got torched. See ya. Flowers with a line single to RF. He's been impressive. Wonder if teams are starting to call.
  14. I was just about to post-- who is Ozzie Chavez? Who is he?
  15. Lillibridge doesn't get the runners over on a bunt. Must like Charlotte, or some other AAA city.
  16. Dude is a stud. Next start....Thursday vs the Cubs on CSN (Cubs broadcast) and ESPN2 (probably blacked out locally).
  17. 5 2/3 for Peavy. 83 pitches.
  18. He came off ok in the interview, but I've heard Milton Bradley sound ok in interviews too. I've heard Adam Dunn say he's a good teammate. I'll take his word for it. I just hope Ozzie or his teammates teach him how to act on the field. The guys that disrespect the game tend to not stick around.
  19. The Laumann interview wasn't that great. Talked a lot about Sale. I kind of wish Rongey would have asked him how much they scouted Mike Trout in 2009, and why they went with Mitchell.
  20. Pierre LF, Vizquel 2B, Dunn DH, Ramirez SS, Pierzynski C, Teahen 3B, Milledge RF, McPherson 1B, Lillibridge CF
  21. Doug Laumann will be on White Sox Weekly on 670 at noon...or sometime between noon and 1. Maybe he'll offer up where some players are going.
  22. Sox will be facing some decent pitching 3 of the next 4 days--Trevor Cahill, John Ely, Mat Latos, Felix Hernandez. Dodgers game tomorrow in on WGN.
  23. Milledge was on the radio last night after the game. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=h...mp;dcid=CBS.CHI
  24. Humber...lock Milledge...lock If Peavy is ok, this roster is set.
  25. Beautiful swing for Flowers. 2-run homer. That was something.
