Sox (2-0) at Cleveland (0-2) 4/3 @ 12:05 CSN
Probably more likely to see the "Sunday" lineup on Wednesday, when they face Francis. Day game after a night game, facing a lefty. Wednesday we'll see Milledge and Castro I'm sure...and probably Dunn at 1B.

Good game. I don't know how that ball Rios hit didn't go way out. That wind must have been something. I'm sure Ozzie will play Vizquel at 3B tomorrow. Other than that, I don't want to see the classic Sunday lineup after winning the first two.

White Sox road grey jersey
I'm a uniform snob...I'll admit that. I'm big on home whites and road greys. If I was the uniform czar, I'd limit alternate jerseys to road teams on Saturday's and home teams on Sunday's. Every other game would be home white/road grey (or whatever shade). And definitely for opening day and the postseason, they should always wear their main home or road uniform.

Sox at Cleveland 2:05 PM Opening Day!!
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) Let's all hope we shipped that problem to New England in a pretty big package. I wonder if their fans know he sucks against the Orioles yet.

Sox at Cleveland 2:05 PM Opening Day!!
I don't care if they lose. It's a long season. Just don't lose like the Brewers and Cardinals did yesterday. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) If you are not anxious and nervous on Opening Day you are not alive.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
The Sox play the Rays 8 games in April, and the A's 10 games from April 11- June 12. I'll accept splits from both, but hopefully the Rays are a slow starter this season. The A's scare me because their starting pitching is tough, and they could be tight, low scoring games.

Good move, I think. I can see later on in the season getting guys 5 days rest when they can, but for now, they need to minimize Humber's starts. I also could see this coming, since Humber is basically the 7th bullpen arm for the first series. They weren't really going to go with 6 in the pen for any extended period of time.

Why do we open in Cleveland?
The whole first series will be cold, but the best chance for precip is Saturday. Opening Day looks safe. Kansas City looks good next Tuesday and Wednesday, and the current forecast for Chicago next Thursday is Cloudy and 58.

It used to be Arizona, to Las Vegas, to another one-game city, to the opener. It not that bad this time. They'll land in Cleveland in about 30 minutes. No big deal.

If you're on the 40-man, and you start the season on the DL, you're pretty much considered a big leaguer until you come off the DL. Viciedo will be optioned to AAA when he comes off the DL.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 05:20 PM) Especially if we're concerned about the weather early in the season, yes. A double header makes things especially hard. Just about every one of our pitchers gets better on extra rest, more than 5 days actually helps these guys. I think there was one who didn't, but it was an iffy comparison, when I looked last year. Ok, I may have to come over to your side on this issue. I did look up the Floyd, Buehrle, and Danks's splits, and indeed, they were all much better on 5 days rest over 4 days rest last year. I guess I won't complain either way on this, but I'd rather only see Humber twice over four times. We'll see how it plays out in April.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
^ Even better. I'm just a big believer that if you have a crappy 5th starter, and you can skip him without the other four pitching on short rest, you do it.

Garza's spring ERA - 10.38 It doesn't mean anything now, but if he starts off slow, it may mean something. Bad arm?
