Sox @ Royals, 2:05CT
Humber is getting lit up by Sox minor leaguers. Brandon Short homered off him, and they've scored at least 4 runs in one inning. I'm not going to second guess this...if they don't push Humber back to April 9th, they are stupid. They need to lean on the top 4 while Peavy is out.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
Peavy is currently pitching against Sox minor leaguers (and some major leaguers). 7 up/7 down, including striking out Quentin.

Looks like they decided to change Humber to the minor league game tomorrow. He's supposed to go five innings, and Peavy is supposed to pitch a couple innings as well.

If the Sox get ... Then they will ...
If the Sox get beat by the Twins a lot like last year and they don't make the playoffs, Kenny Williams will not be the GM of the White Sox come December.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
The Sox head to the airport tomorrow at 5 central. It'll be a bunch of kids playing tomorrow and there's a possible rainout on Wednesday, so today could be it for AB's until Friday afternoon.

If the Sox get ... Then they will ...
If Gordon Beckham has 60 extra base hits, the Sox will win at least 90 games.

Why do we open in Cleveland?
Just an edit...Floyd is staying in Arizona to pitch on Wednesday, with rain expected in Winston-Salem.

Humber is scheduled to face KC tomorrow. With this, I think that means they'll push his first start back to April 9. If they were intending on him starting the 5th game in KC, I doubt they would let him face the Royals tomorrow. They would probably have him pitch a AAA game.

Payroll Too Big
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) A .500 start is still in the race. Last year they were well below .500. Yep. Just breaking down the schedule, I'd like the Sox to be 50-43 at the break, and within 3 games of first place. If it's this, or better, then they'll be in real good shape going into the second half.

Payroll Too Big
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) Source? That schedule is not easy in April. The first couple months are fairly brutal. April 1 - June 1 58 games. 35 road, 23 home 4 at TB, NY, Tor 3 at Bos 9 game road trip Seattle, Anaheim, and Oakland If the Sox are 30-28 on June 2, I'll take it. Then it's time to start kicking butt after that when it's more home/interleague/and divisional games. The Sox are going to have to be a 2nd half team...they have no other choice.

Milli con Lilli
If nobody gets hurt the first month, Lillibridge will be gone by May 1...probably sooner. It's just buying time before they need a consistent 5th starter.

Why do we open in Cleveland?
Highs in the 40's and a 30% of rain each day in Cleveland, Friday-Sunday. The forecast for Winston-Salem on Wednesday looks cold and possibly rainy for Floyd's last start too.

I like that news of Marquez getting waived. Now I hope they do the next thing and hold off on Humber starting not until April 9 and 19, when his likely opponent for both games is Wade Davis.

Why do we open in Cleveland?
Not bad for Cleveland... http://www.accuweather.com/us/oh/cleveland...?mnyr=4-01-2011 Even better for Chicago on April 7... http://www.accuweather.com/us/il/chicago/6...?mnyr=4-01-2011 Still early to know about rain, but at least the temps are trending up.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 02:33 AM) When is the last time Ozzie took 11 pitchers to start the season? Not gonna happen, IMHO. I don't think it would be a season-long thing, but just to start the season, they could get away with it. But they would need to push Humber's first start back to April 9th. He would be the 7th pitcher in the bullpen in Cleveland. Buehrle 4-1, 4-6, 4-11, 4-16, 4-21, 4-26 Jackson 4-2, 4-7, 4-12, 4-17, 4-22, 4-27 Danks 4-3, 4-8, 4-13, 4-18, 4-23, 4-28 Floyd 4-5, 4-10, 4-15, 4-20, 4-25, 4-30 Humber 4-9, 4-19 Hopefully Peavy comes back on the 24th, and then also starts on the 29th.

http://twitter.com/MDGonzales/status/51784155427639297 When Marquez was getting torched, I was thinking about this. Might as well see how long they can go without 7 in the pen. Marquez is just a run-of-the-mill arm. If they have to risk losing him by putting him through waivers, so be it.

Morel at .317. Rookie of the Year candidate? Are there any good AL rookies this year?
-
ST: 3/25 vs Diamondbacks
If Pierre got hurt for an extended period of time, who would you rather have lead off, Milledge or Lillibridge? Milledge is a lock.
