  1. Crain struck out the side, but gave up two runs. Walk, double, single.
  2. Sale is in there trying to pitch over errors by Gookie Dawkins and Robby Hudson. Yikes.
  3. Teahen will start at 1B tomorrow. Just trying to show other teams how versatile he is. They're really going all out to try to move him.
  4. Peavy story on 60 pitch limit... http://content.usatoday.com/communities/da...content=Twitter
  5. http://twitter.com/ChrisRongey/status/50256847009091584
  6. Cuts... De Aza, Flowers, Bruney, McPherson, Gray, Lindsay, Kinney, Infante and Danks. Down to 29, and that includes Peavy and Viciedo. So they're down to 27. With Lucy just there to be a 3rd catcher, it's really just down to Lillibridge or Milledge. I think Humber is the 5th starter, and Marquez will be in the pen.
  7. Peavy will be limited to 60 pitches going into May. Might as well write him off until at least June. I hope they go even slower with him. If he isn't back until July, but then can stay in the rotation, that's fine with me.
  8. Jackson vs King Felix Milledge LF, Beckham 2B, Dunn 1B, Ramirez DH, Teahen RF, Castro C, Morel 3B, Vizquel SS, Lillibridge CF
  9. Bases loaded, nobody out... Teahen lines out softly to ss Flowers strikes out after being 2-0. McPherson strikes out on 3 pitches. Good times.
  10. Double for Flowers. He's been above and beyond expectations this spring.
  11. Hear that Angels? You want some of that? QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) Teahen with the sweet diving stop
  12. Double for Pierre, RBI single for Beckham off Latos. Alex Rios 2-run homer. 3-0. Team rules in the cold weather.
  13. 53 and cloudy in Peoria, AZ http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...mp;mode=gameday Marquez starting. Buehrle pushed back to Tuesday (Reds AAA team) because of the possible rain tonight.
  14. http://twitter.com/MDGonzales Ozzie definitely doesn't count on injured players. Once they're out of site, they are out of mind. I got real optimistic yesterday when Peavy threw 83 pitches. Today has made me go back to not expecting anything from him. Could he come back soon and be productive? Sure, but I'm done counting on it. I think Ozzie is in that same category.
  15. The guy is one injury after the other. It will never end until they can say goodbye to him at the end of the 2012 season. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) You realize he hasn't even been scratched from Thursday yet, right?
  16. Having this set in a little now, they would be absolutely stupid if they let him pick up a ball for ten days. Just shut him down, and start him over. Humber should start April 9th, and they should prepare him for that.
  17. ^ And with that, Peavy needs to shut up and go away until he's ready. Humber is the 5th starter as far as I'm concerned.
  18. Humber will take Peavy's place. He's definitely stretched out the most; doing the best.
  19. If anything now, they should push his first start back to April 9th. They don't need a 5th starter until then.
  20. I'm happy that Peavy hasn't had a blip until now, but wouldn't have made more sense just to give the three starts (4/9, 4/19, 4/24) to Humber, and have Peavy start his season on April 29th at home? I'm not saying that's what they should do now, but from the get-go, just plan for him to come back at the end of April.
  21. Rongey on the Score...same thing...Thursday not ruled out. I guess Peavy used the "shut down" phrase, but not accurate.

  23. With Peavy due to start on April 6th, they can afford to push him back to next weekend. Maybe minor league games on the 26th and 31st. Then be ready for April 6 at KC.
  24. Floyd vs Ely Sox: Pierre, Beckham, Dunn, Konerko, Rios, Quentin, Castro, Morel, Vizquel
  25. This probably deserves its own thread, but shouldn't the Sox seriously consider sending Chris Sale to the minors to be a starting pitcher? He's been bad this spring. Bad control. They're talking about him on the radio now, saying he's been down on himself. Wouldn't it be a good thing to send him down and get him 140 innings as a starter, and then have him ready to move into the rotation in 2012? I sure think so. I know they wanted to have a 3rd lefty to face Minnesota and Cleveland, but most of the division games are after the AS Break. If they need to make a move then, they can do it.
