  1. After this loss, the Sox are going to be 11-17 in August with one more game tomorrow afternoon. Even with a good stretch, it's still a bad monthly record, which is fine by me.
  2. Mets-Astros are postponed Friday, and they'll play a doubleheader in Houston on Saturday. That's some good news.
  3. QUOTE (Quin @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 03:06 PM) Then there's Alec Hansen pitch face If he's just sitting on the bench, is that resting pitch face?
  4. Just for perspective, if the Sox go 15-17, for teams to have a higher pick they would have to go: Giants 13-15 Reds 11-19 Tigers and Mets 9-22 Padres and A's 9-21 Braves 10-23 Maybe the Sox fall to 4, but I'm not worried about them going 18-14 and really dropping.
  5. Seeing all of the Magic Numbers from 4 to 9, the Sox better not blow a top 3 pick...and they won't.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 12:22 PM) Phucking Fillies. Yeah, it's going to be 2 or 3 probably. If the Sox go 15-17 or worse, they'll have a nice pick next year.
  7. Braves trouncing Phillies early in game 1 of a doubleheader.
  8. QUOTE (Yoda @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 06:14 AM) Sale became the fastest pitcher in MLB history to reach 1500 strikeouts, doing so in 1,290 total innings. Amazing considering how he came up out of the bullpen first and has pitched in just the AL. But it's fastest to 1500 K based on innings, so pitching out of the pen was to his advantage in this accomplishment.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 10:28 AM) Not waiting two weeks to ensure an extra year of control would be a fireable offense IMO. I can't believe there are people on this site who would be ok with. Completely mind-boggling. True, and as I said yesterday, if you listen to the interview, it's a big stretch he'll be on the team before the break.
  10. It would be cool if he puts up 6-7 good innings tomorrow afternoon, and gets traded before they fly back to Chicago. To be eligible for the postseason, trades have to be completed by 11pm central tomorrow night.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 09:17 AM) Hahn makes a dozen good moves and people will continue to harp on the one bad one. I look at it as the last bad move in the "Go For It" era. Every team makes bad moves. The Sox are no different. Now they have a plan, and we're going to find out if it works over the next 5-7 years.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 09:34 AM) I don't know if it is PC to say, but is it coincidence that so many Latin players took a large step forward this year? Possibly, but I also think some Sox players have benefited from the juiced ball too, including Matt Davidson.

  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 29, 2017 -> 07:42 PM) For all the praise he got In minors about time. He definitely is/was a combo of rushed and injury prone. He made a catch last week that he dove and didn't have to. He just needs to stay on the field now.

  19. As a fan of baseball, I'm glad Buxton isn't going to be a bust.
  20. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 29, 2017 -> 07:20 PM) Where b Hawkeroo? I think it being three in Minnesota and then back home for 10 days, he said "screw it. I'll see you Sep 11".
