  1. It may be cherry-picking six games into a 19-game season series, but if they get to the end of the season and the Royals win the division with an 89-73 record, while the Sox go 86-76...and in the process go 6-13 in the season series---there's no other way to look at it than the Sox blew the division.
  2. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) Is this your prediction? Not really a prediction, just what the Sox need to do if they're playing division-winning type baseball. Obviously, it won't go exactly like this series to series, but the aggregate of these 54 games should be 31-23 if the Royals also continue on a 90-win pace.
  3. QUOTE (Special K @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 11:53 AM) I don't see us going 8-4 over the next 12... Time to make up for that 4-15 nonsense.
  4. Right now, you have to assume 90 wins is what is needed to get the AL Central. So the Sox need to get to 60-48 after 108 games to be on that pace. I'll keep track of this for the next 54 games, and up date after each series. You'll see if the Sox are ahead or behind as we go along.... at Det 2-1 vs Was 2-1 vs KC 2-1 vs Det 2-1 at Cle 1-2 at Bos 2-2 vs Tor 2-1 vs Min 2-1 at Hou 2-1 vs NY 2-1 vs Atl 2-1 at LAA 2-1 at Sea 1-2 vs Det 2-2 vs Chi 1-1 at Chi 1-1 at Min 2-1 at Det 1-2
  5. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) A loss is a loss no matter if it is game one, 47, or 162. No matter if it is a blown lead or a blow out. No matter if it comes after 6 other loses or 15 wins. As SS2k5 presented the stats it isn't a bad place to be. Based on who they played and where they played the games, I think 29-25 is right where the Sox should be. But when you start 19-8 the first 27, and then go 10-17 the next 27---and in the process go 1-5 against the Royals---it's absolutely a shame the Sox aren't at least 31-23 at the 1/3 mark. You can have any perspective on this you want to make yourself feel better. But make no mistake, the season series against the teams in the division are a big deal. Any deficit has to be made up against other teams--and that's tough to do.
  6. vs Tigers this year.... 6-4 at home, 5-4 on the road. Anything less than 11-8 isn't good enough, especially if they're going to have a piss record against the Royals again.
  7. Against the rules. Against the law. It's called stealing.
  8. Fulmer no hitter through 6 Indians will miss King Felix next week because he hurt himself celebrating. Nice.
  9. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20160601 Carroll had a no-no through 5.
  10. I'd say the one thing to be completely worried about is the ability to beat teams in the division. It's a 2-game swing every time you play the Indians or Royals, or now the Tigers. 2-4 at home vs the Indians 1-5 vs the Royals That's not good when you have 19 precious games against each. 3-3 vs both right now would have the Sox comfortably ahead in the division. But the point is taken that it's rare that a team consistently wins 6 out of 10 games all season long. There are swings both ways. At the 1/3 mark in the season, 29-25 is pretty good if you didn't know they were once 23-10, and lost 9 of 12 vs the Indians and Royals.

  12. 19-8 to 10-17. 10-17 sucks, but it's a helluva lot better than 8-19 or 9-18. Two important wins against the Mets. Now go 15-12 four times in a row for 89-73, and that should win the division.
  13. Mets deserve to lose this game. Make it happen.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) Has he done something else besides the PED stuff? No, but they should get to the point where PEDs are as big of a penalty as gambling if there is proof of trying to cheat. The party is over and I think a lot of players agree. It's going to be interesting to see if changes come in the next CBA.
  15. It would nice if they had a hitting coach that could bring him out of this soon.
  16. Lifetime ban, like a Pete Rose type lifetime ban.
  17. Mets have to be frustrated today to only have one run.
  18. Talk about a guy that deserves a lifetime ban right now. The guy is scum.
  19. I hope Ranaudo turns out to be something for this rotation.
