  1. Levine on the Score now, defending Ventura. Typical Cubs fan media guy that just thinks about his his own comfort as a media guy. Easy guy to deal with...good manager. Chicago sports media is garbage.
  2. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ May 28, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) This is an 82 win team IMO, don't think it matters whether it's Ozzie or Robin or anyone else So even if part of the 23-10 start was luck, it was perfectly ok if they go 59-70 after that because they were destined for 82-80 with decent health? I'm not buying it. After 23-10 and beating some good teams in the process, 90 wins should have been realistic. They should have been able to tread water for 60-70 games, still been in first place, then make a couple good trades to supplement what they already had.
  3. I could see some frustrations come out today if the opportunity presents itself.
  4. The Sox haven't been swept this year, and Sale is going for his 10th win...what could go wrong?
  5. 58 million for 88 starts of an ERA around 4...yeah that seems like the going rate.
  6. QUOTE (Vance Law @ May 28, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) Manager doesn't matter. You can get to and maybe win a World Series with Ned Yost or Terry Collins, or Ozzie f***ing Guillen. It matters, even if some things aren't measurable. Nobody should be defending keeping Ventura. Even if you think manager doesn't matter, it can't be worse giving Renteria the keys the rest of the season and see how things go. It would never be a regretful thing letting Robin go after this road trip.
  7. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 28, 2016 -> 07:09 PM) 1960 vs. Baltimore 1990 vs. Angels 1991 vs. Baltimore (lost something like 16 of 18 immediately afterwards) 2002 vs. Minnesota That's just off the top of my head. Mark Lee Stevens
  8. Eaton RF Jackson CF Frazier 3B Cabrera LF Abreu 1B Lawrie 2B Avila C Garcia DH Saladino SS Win, jerks.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 27, 2016 -> 11:41 PM) Dan Hayes ✔ ‎@CSNHayes Ventura on walking Hosmer for Perez (2/2): " ... Dukie has had some good numbers against Hosmer." Ventura on walking Hosmer for Perez (1/2): "You consider it. I mean you load it up, you don’t give Jonesy much to work with there. ... It's low on the complaint list, but Ventura's use of the word "you" is annoying as hell. Take some f***ing ownership! Speak like a manager and not just a mouthpiece.
  10. Until Fulmer starts putting up quality starts where the walk number is low, and k number is somewhat high, that dude is totally irrelevant. What a trainwreck of a season so far.
  11. I promised myself I wouldn't go to the dark side until they actually weren't in 1st place. So until that happens, I'll hope they turn this around. But when it comes to Ventura, I'll never endorse a celebrity hire of a guy who has never managed, or put in the time as a coach.
  12. Right now it feels like the Sox won't win two in a row ever again. Can't believe they went 23-10.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 27, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Do you think any of these dates have changed because of the postponement at KC? He's pitching Monday in NY. With the off day on Thursday and the following Monday, the rest could be the same. Just have to wait and see.
  14. Makeup game with KC....Monday, September 19 at 1:15. It's a week where the Sox had Monday and Thursday off, so good deal.
  15. All things forgiven if they win 2 out of 3 seven times in a row. Time to win ball games.
  16. Daniel Fields dropped from 40-man. Outrighted to Charlotte.
  17. Single in first AB. .313 Now! Bring him up now!
  18. It's going to be an interesting trip. When the schedule came out, I looked at this as the trip that could be the end of Robin as manager. That won't happen, but all of the good feeling the 23-10 start had would be out the window if they go 4-6 or worse.
  19. It's hard to overly freak out about a team in first place, but if this 4-10 or 4-11 stretch becomes a 7-20, then it's going to be over.
  20. Matchups the next two series: Gonzalez vs Duffy Rodon vs Ventura Latos vs Kennedy Sale vs Volquez Quintana vs Harvey Gonzalez vs Matz Rodon vs deGrom
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 25, 2016 -> 07:51 AM) If the White Sox don't make the playoffs, Ventura will not be the manager next year. Probably won't happen before that though. Agreed, but if the Sox completely tank in the next month and are under .500 at the break, he should be gone. But as of this morning, the Sox are still in first place, so it's time to get back on track and play the 42 games until the break at 26-16, and not 16-26.
  22. Big game. A loss today and a bad 10-game road trip would probably start the Fire Robin talk...so don't do that.
