  1. In a vacuum, I'll take our pen over theirs. Win this game!
  2. This is a game they have to win now. No bullpen bs.
  3. 13 over .500...kinda don't want to be single digit over .500 again. It's a bad look. Get it together jerks.
  4. Turner is starting tomorrow, so he'll be on schedule for Monday.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 17, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) But why Beck even if he did have a good game? Because it would have been three good starts in a row and nobody else is standing out.
  6. Of course good Keuchel has arrived just in time for the Sox.
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) I see no reason why Johnson or Turner wouldn't be the spot start on the DH. I guess. If Beck would have gone 6-7 strong, that probably would have gotten him the call. We'll see what they do with the order now that it's six days out. Hopefully they can get a split that day and win the other two games.
  8. Well, Beck screwed that up.
  9. Kennys Vargas hit a 2-run homer off Beck in the first. Anderson single, stolen base
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ May 17, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) I really want to win this game. Agreed. It's not a must win or anything, but after a 2-4 week where the bullpen sucked, it's time to get back to winning and playing clean baseball- quality start, good defense, no bullpen bs. Just win.
  11. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20160517 Beck starting tonight. Fair shot at pitching vs Cleveland next Monday if he has another good start.
  12. Danny Duffy will start in Chicago with a pitch count of around 60. Gee- Quintana Duffy- Gonzalez Ventura- Rodon
  13. Anderson 3-5 Fields walk off hit, set up by Leury.
  14. Tigers beating up Berrios. Kinda glad he's not pitching like a phenom.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan18 @ May 16, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) My off day boredom has led to me looking ahead with the pitchers. With Sale going on Thursday, is he closing out the DH Monday on 3 days rest? Gotta assume so. That's a bad assumption. 3 days rest is a thing of the past unless it's October, or late September. I think Chris Beck gets the call as the 26th man on Monday.
  16. Are the White Sox for real? They better be. Some playoff math: Current record: 24-14 Games left against KC, Detroit, and Cleveland: 55. If they can't go 10-9 against each of these teams, then it's just more of the same. Just go 29-26. That brings them to 53-40. 13 more games against the Twins. Let's be nice and say 8-5. That's 61-45. Interleague play. Tough schedule this year. NL is doing well so far. I'll take 10-10. That's 71-55. Then there's the rest of the AL East and West. The Sox are currently 17-13, most of which was on the road. 36 games left, mostly at home. Just go 19-17. That's 90 wins. That's winning the AL Central. If they don't do this, they blew it.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ May 14, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) Astros series: Tue- Keuchel vs Rodon Wed- Fister vs Latos Thu- Fiers vs Sale Fiers had to be used yesterday. Collin McHugh is starting Thursday.
  18. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ May 15, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) I watched the games he pitched in. Gonzo was more lucky than good. He was on the tip of disaster in several innings. The reason he has to go is because of what Plesac said. He can throw strikes but doesn't because he does not trust his pitches in the zone. I don't know who the Sox should bring up as the next contestant in the 5th starter derby. Not Erik Johnson, not Scott Carroll and not Gonzo for sure. That is why I suggested possibly skipping the 5th spot for one turn while that is being discussed and decided on. They aren't going to a four man, plus there's a doubleheader a week from tomorrow, so Gonzalez will start again. That's not changing.
  19. The 5th spot is going to be a revolving door for a while, but Gonzalez will face KC on Saturday, and somebody (Beck?) will face the Indians in 8 days.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2016 -> 06:42 PM) Another example of the Bautista bat flip posing and bad blood carrying over from last post-season and into the final game of a series. Not sure when/if they play each other again this year. They don't. Played last week in Toronto.
  21. Only five AL teams are over .500. Orioles and Red Sox, Mariners and Rangers, and the White Sox. I'd like to know the odds that these five teams remain the postseason teams the entire rest of the season.
