It doesn't surprise me. One more start to evaluate him and give Gonzalez, Turner, and Johnson a look before deciding who to call up next.

I know some of these options - DL, minor rehab, bullpen, etc. fall into the Sox Loyalty Program, but sometimes it's just over.

If that spot has 27 starts left, you probably have to gamble that somebody or a group of somebodies can do a better job than Danks. Maybe one more start to get the AAA guys more time, but it's getting time.

If Miguel Gonzalez (or Johnson) has a couple good starts in AAA while Danks has a couple more bad starts, that probably would be it. It would be nice if Buehrle was secretly getting in shape and wanted to come back, but I highly doubt it.

Obviously he should take the time he needs, but it's ok to talk about how this impacts the team too. My guess is he'll be back Tuesday night. He probably knew last night when he was pitching that he wouldn't be with the team this weekend.
