QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 25, 2015 -> 11:44 AM) Who is going to be in the booth with Stone? Chuck Swirsky

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) I think the bigger problem is that some people think a baseball ticket entitles them to way more then it actually does. Baseball is a sport. It is entertainment. It is a game. It isn't some sort of place for people to get an ego fulfillment because their team owes it to them, or some weird 21st century entitlement idea. The ideas about stomping and pouting and demanding the team do this and that because they owe it to you, the fans, is just silly. I don't know when that idea came into sports, but people need to get over it. These aren't gladiators. This isn't life and death on the line. The whole idea that staying away and quitting somehow makes you better than people who don't, because the team isn't delivering something it apparently owes to you to get you to show up is just mindblowing to me. Even worse is taking to the internet in an effort to get some sort of cyber pat on the back because you are all sad because the team hasn't won enough for you. Baseball is not an entitlement program. It doesn't owe you a regular championship as if you get a trophy just for signing up as a fan. If you need that to feel good about yourself, sign up for another team. It seems like you have being a fan down to - this is the team I like, this is the park I go to and enjoy, and I hope the Sox win, but if they don't, oh well, there's always tomorrow or next year. And that's fine. But if that's the way you consume White Sox baseball, without opinions or thoughts on how they could improve, why even post here? What's here for you that gives you joy other than telling other people what to think?

Looks like they'll be dodging rain in Baltimore on Thursday. Could be a long day.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 24, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) No, really, they don't. It's early days still. At the very minimum, they need to stay within 2-3-4 games of .500 for the next few weeks and hope KC and Detroit come back to earth a bit. At 70 games if they are 34-36, would you still rule them out? My answer would be "it depends on what record KC and Detroit have at that time." If either of those teams runs away and hides with this thing, it doesn't matter if the white sox win 77 or 93 games. We aren't seeing postseason play. I think there's very good starting pitching talent and enough hitting to make a run. Defense is still my main concern. I get your point, but when the Sox were 18-17, I said it wasn't much to ask them to be 26-26 when they got home from the long trip. In my opinion, that still stands. Go 7-4 to make up for what you just did. As far as a big picture record, if they're 23-31 after 54, they're done. And on the Tigers and Royals, I hope they beat teams in the AL that are going for the second wildcard. We're not in the AL Central anymore. That's not happening.
-
Also, it's 11 games. They need to go 7-4 to make up for this homestand, period.

QUOTE (Tannerfan @ May 24, 2015 -> 04:35 PM) You're dreaming. Can't blame anyone for not giving up yet. They've played 25% of the season. Hahn has said in the past you know who you are after 60 games. No harm in giving them three more weeks to get it going. After that, open season.
-
Not even taking offense in consideration, if you were told before the season that the starters ERA would be 4.64 after 41 games, 19-22 would seem about right, or generous.
-
15 f***ing runs scored in a 7-game homestand. Pitiful.
-
At least we have Hector Noesi starting tomorrow.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:49 PM) Jesus we follow this with an 11 game, 10-day road trip. 10 days of games, but 11 days. Off on June 1.

Great week at home. Way to go.

QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) Yeah but Sale is one of the only two marketable players on this team. They aren't going to trade him. Not with the abysmal attendance figures and low popularity in the city. He's marketable? Never noticed.
-
QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) i wouldn't watch the team without Sale, that's for sure. What if the team got better without him, by bringing in multiple pieces?
-
QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) Lol you guys talking about trading Sale. If that happens you might as well relocate this team If Randy Johnson can be traded, so can Chris Sale. Doesn't mean I want it to happen, or it should happen, but that's not a franchise killing move.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) I don't know. I want a proven difference maker. Why stupid? LaRussa has to hate retirement; ditto Leyland. These guys can get the dysfunction out of the Sox! LaRussa is a Diamondbacks executive. Leyland is happily retired. Both are in their 70's and don't want to manage anymore. Stop mentioning their names.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) 8-1 against a team that swept us in Minnie. We've lost six of seven to Minnie, lol. I swear, don't let Paulie get on a plane. Interim manager with Big Hurt the hitting coach. Hire LaRussa this offseason to manage. Beg Tony to save the franchise. If not him, Leyland. Beg them. Come on now. Be passionate, but don't be stupid.
-
They'll go 8-3 on the road trip because it makes no sense.
-
OK, golf time...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) There are 4 teams between us and the 2 wild card spots already. If the Sox went 5-2 this week, we'd be right there. It changes fast. Unfortunately...

QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) If scores hold, tied for last in AL Central after 40 games with the team playing some of its worse ball of tr year. Getting to the point it's now or never. To me, that just means the Indians played their way out of a being out of it. The Sox aren't in the AL Central this season. They're in the AL Wildcard Division.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Unless something changes, they will be done in two weeks Yeah, an 11-game road trip, plus three Tigers games. That could do it. We shall see though. They got to 18-17 somehow.
