  1. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 10:12 AM) Quintana is pitching sunday weather permitting.
  2. August 2, 1990 was fun for Sox fans. But there was no social media. Let them have their fun.
  3. https://twitter.com/ckamka/status/589078962162241536 Interesting
  4. Since sweeping them at Comerica in April 2008, the Sox are 22-39 (.361) in that park.
  5. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 06:20 PM) And this is exactly why you have him AAA for the next month or so, at the very least. Let him continue to work on refining his pitches, there is zero rush to get him on the MLB roster right now, aside from us (fans) wanting to see him ASAP. I agree. I was more guessing they might call him up, thinking they can work with what he has and try to refine it on the fly. I hope he stays in Charlotte for at least 8 starts, and if they need a guy, bring up Carroll or Beck.

Winston-Salem and Kannapolis in rain delays. Birmingham postponed. Rodon, human.
  7. Another run. Gave up a hit on an 0-2 count, and then a triple.
  8. Got hit around in the first inning. 3 hits and walk. 2 runs. Eury Perez walks. Jose Peraza singles on a bunt ground ball to pitcher Carlos Rodon. Eury Perez to 2nd. Cedric Hunter pops out to shortstop Leury Garcia on the infield fly rule. Pedro Ciriaco strikes out swinging. Adonis Garcia singles on a line drive to right fielder Engel Beltre. Eury Perez scores. Jose Peraza to 3rd. Sean Kazmar hit by pitch. Adonis Garcia to 2nd. Joe Benson singles on a line drive to right fielder Engel Beltre. Jose Peraza scores. Adonis Garcia out at home on the throw, right fielder Engel Beltre to catcher George Kottaras.
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) Six man rotation just doesn't make any sense. Why intentionally give starts to your 6th best pitcher? The reality is, unfortunately, if Danks isn't among the best options in either rotation OR the bullpen, he just needs to go. Not a fan of the 6-man, just guessing what they might do. As long as Samardzija and Quintana get 32, and Sale gets 31 starts, I'll take whatever they need to do to win 88 games.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) When's the last time we pulled that one off? 2012 early? 2010? 2008? 2005-06? 2003? 2000? April, 2008. We're due.
  11. I say we go in there and sweep their asses.
  12. A quick change in plans is a good thing sometimes. If Rodon has a good start tonight and they feel he's ready, next Wednesday should be his first start. 17 straight games starting tomorrow. Give him two starts in a 6-man, and then decide which way to go. Chances are he'll pitch his way into being in the Sox rotation.
  13. Or the Tigers make the playoffs by being the 7th best team in a bad division...and that happened in 2012.
  14. Better catch than Eaton's? http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/...-robs-home-run/
  15. Tigers 8-1 Royals 7-1
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) Playing two superb teams 18 times this year is gonna make it hard for three teams to come out of the AL Central 19 It's rare for three teams to be upper-80's wins, but it could happen. Gotta dominate the 20 interleague games.
  17. Tigers 8-1 Tough division, but the Sox play 124 games against teams other than the Royals and Tigers. Every 27... 14-13 15-12 15-12 15-12 15-12 14-13 88 wins should get an extra game with Sale on the mound.

Jordan Guerrero is winning the Sally League. 11 Ks in 6 innings

Mitchell ejected tonight. Amusing to see his and Keenyn Walker's names in boxscores still.
  21. Buehrle getting the run support again. Must be nice.
  22. Petricka will do his rehab for Charlotte. Penny and Lindstrom hit the DL today.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) Lack of talent has also been a definition. As for the defense, we all knew this wasn't going to be a particularly good defensive team. I don't know why it's Robin's fault Micah is shaky at 2b, Gillaspie is bad at 3b, Abreu isn't a GGer, Avi still takes bad routes, and the catchers aren't stellar. So in other words, the Sox are short on talent and it was a waste of time trading for Samardzija, and signing Cabrera and Robertson. Great.
  24. I can't see anything happen to Robin during the season, but if they end up under .500 with a healthy team, Hahn needs to hire his own manager. Plenty of time to get this season on track, but they need to play smarter.
