  1. I want Aiken to be there and the Sox to take him. After that, I think I want Nola at a discount. Rodon and Kolek both really scare me. Rodon because he may be overrated, and Kolek because of the youth/power combo--will the elbow blow out fast and can he throw a mix of pitches for strikes. It's an interesting year. So--Aiken, Nola, Rodon. And with that--I'm sure we'll have a good laugh at all of this a couple years from now.
  2. Fun fact: Bob Iger, one of the candidates, is married to former sports babe Willow Bay. That's all I got on this topic.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2014 -> 10:55 AM) Honestly, I'll take 25 starts a year from him for next 5 years and be happy with it. Missing Sale 1.5 months a season is a recipe for never making the playoffs.
  4. Sale is great. Hopefully he'll get to a point where he can be relied on for 32-33 starts on a yearly basis.
  5. Whoever mentioned last night that the MLB Network was questioning whether Buehrle had a stretch of dominance like this, yes he has. Just not to begin a season. 2001- Starts 8-17: team 8-2, 6-1, 1.94 ERA 2002- Starts 7-16: team 6-4, 6-3, 2.33 ERA 2005- Starts 7-16: team 8-2, 6-0, 1.51 ERA 2007- Starts 12-21: team 6-4, 6-3, 2.18 ERA 2011- Starts 17-26: team 7-3, 5-1, 2.15 ERA He also had a 21 game stretch with 19 quality starts and a 2.54 ERA And with all of these stretches, he pitched a minimum of 71 innings. This year, Buehrle has thrown 66.2 innings.
  6. Classic Rongey call.
  7. The Twins are tied for a wild card spot. The Twins. The Sox have made it this far without falling too far under .500. Get healthy, and you never know.
  8. Don't do a Giambi, Tex.
  9. Haven't shut out a team this season. How's that for a jinx?
  10. Throw strikes, please.
  11. Rooting for Putnam to return for the 8th. edit: Webb in
  12. Hawk is really pushing "The Canon" for Abreu. He seems to be the only one.
  13. This game has a long way to go.
  14. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 22, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) Do you think Robin is secretly hoping the Yankees get a two out single next inning? Otherwise, he's in a position very soon where he gets criticized no matter what he does 100%
  15. Say he's through 8 at 101...then what?
  16. In my opinion, they would pull him after 7 if he's over 100--with or without a no-hitter.
  17. Is he ready to go 127 for a no-hitter?
  18. Barring a bad 9th inning by the Jays pen, Buehrle 8-1, 2.16 Won at Fenway.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2014 -> 05:09 PM) You would hope so. I wouldn't be too upset with Nola, as his stuff is much better than the likes of Broadway. I would prefer Aiken over him, but I still can't imagine the Sox taking a high school pitcher with the 3rd pick of the draft. I'm no scouting eye expert, but I really like Aiken's delivery. Seems real simple. Kolek scares the crap out of me, but could very well be a future all-star. Maybe they like Aiken and would take him at 3, but not Kolek....and Nola is a Plan B if Rodon and Aiken are gone.
  20. Is Nola someone they could make a deal with that's on the cheaper side to spend more later on?
  21. This season has been terrible for MLB.
  22. https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/469597781854666753 Oh boy. I hope he meant Kenny Williams Sr.
  23. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/4695750...6289923/photo/1 OMG! Jeter is playing! I hope the Sox went all out with a gift!
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 21, 2014 -> 09:30 AM) Considering they gave Guerrero $28 million and Olivo's on a MLC, I think I know how this one ends. And it has.
