  1. 54 left. 11-7 every 18 gets the 3-seed. Go.
  2. 5-2 is pretty important this week, but more than that, the Sox have to put two good months together starting Tuesday. 1/3 of the season left, they need to put up a couple 16-11 months to get to 87 wins. That should get them in.
  3. Frank Thomas on the pregame- “this team leads the league in chains and chillin’.”
  4. With a day game tomorrow, Robert was going to sit one game anyway. Maybe he can play late defense tonight. Turns 25 tomorrow.
  5. If the Sox lose tonight, they should be sellers. Wait, what?
  6. La Russa became Sox manager 43 years ago today. Happy Trade Deadline Day everyone!
  7. He’s GMing now. Hahn is locked in a broom closet.
  8. Oh, I’ll say it…winning the AL Central means nothing this year. You have to win the division, and then a best-of-3 at home. Until they do that, it’s a bad season. And even if they win those two extra games, you have to get by the Astros again, which is unlikely. 2022 is not the Sox year.
  9. There’s no venom on my part toward TA. I’m just calling it like I see it based on watching baseball over the years. If he had to get it out, he could have stayed in the box, kept his head down while talking and told the ump “that was high”- even though that was a borderline first pitch of the at bat. Once TA starts walking toward him, he’s in trouble. Once he says the magic words, he’s gone. And once he gets in the face of the ump and the brim of his helmet makes contact with the ump, he’s suspended. Three games seems fair based on the incident, and especially since he’s done this before. The punishment was warranted.
  10. Give me a fucking break about being targeted or over punished. Absolutely deserved three games.
  11. True. I’m just frustrated with this season, these players, and how there was no urgency at all on Day 1.
  12. Paternity List
  13. It would be nice/cool/interesting/sad if the Sox, Twins, Guardians are all 52-49 after this weekend.
  14. One can only hope they’re both gone next year. Yes, I know unpopular opinion, but they both suck.
  15. Paul Sorvino, 83 Tony Dow, 77 (not dead yet) Rest in Peace
  16. It could happen. Probably would need Robert back on Friday, which would be nice for everyone.
  17. Anything less than 12-7 is bad. I’ll look at it this way… the Yankees, Astros, Mariners, Blue Jays, and Rays all get 88+ wins. The Twins and Sox stay under 88, so the season series winner makes it, and the other goes home. The Twins win 4 of the final 9 games with the Sox, securing the tie-breaker. That would mean for the Sox to get to 87, and the Twins to only get to 86, the remaining games (not including h-t-h) would have to be: Sox 34-23 and Twins 30-27 So yeah, let’s get some wins in bunches now.
  18. Now go 4-1 this week.
  19. Great hustle with two outs— major league effort.
  20. Any loss is a good loss until August 2. Don’t give Hahn any wise ideas of contending for a championship.
