  1. I hope so too. But they have to go 10-4 the next 14. They really have to get hot now or it’s over. I mean, really over, because August 2nd is coming up fast.
  2. They’ll win the next 3, get to .500, and then go 3-5 next week in Cle and Min. Watch. (But don’t really watch. Who would do that?)
  3. The second half begins. They only have to play like a 100-win team to finish 89-73. They can do that, right?
  4. Yes, please.
  5. Cease is AL pitcher of the month for June
  6. He’s been DHing some, and they pretty much announced he was going to sit a lot the rest of the season. Kind of like baseball’s version of load management.
  7. I know it’s a long shot at best, but if they keep the same group of players, is there any doubt Ozzie is a great fit for this roster? He’s older, but not old. Knows baseball. Can communicate well with most of the players. I think he deserves another shot because they have nothing to lose at this point.
  8. Buxton in CF today. They’re going for the throat.
  9. The major league schedule is half over. The average MLB team has 88 homers. The average AL playoff team right now has 102. The Sox have 62 approaching game 81. Welcome back, Eloy.
  10. Three more months. Hopefully that will wrap up his time in the Sox organization. This coaching staff cannot return. None of them.
  11. Definitely looks like anything goes tonight- postponed, rain shortened, suspended. Or they get lucky and dodge it. Just win. Today or tomorrow. Get a W.
  12. I’m fine with Vaughn being a great hitter with a shitload of doubles because we know the HR totals will come sooner or later. Robert needs to be better than this.
  13. The answer is.,.it depends. The current mix of players has to be adjusted. The DH/1B clusterfuck has to be dealt with in the offseason. Let’s see how the rest of the season goes. If keeping Eloy and Abreu means trading Vaughn, then no, I don’t want Abreu back.
  14. On Eloy coming back, hopefully today is just a “how do you feel today?” day, and if it’s good, he’s on a plane today and in the lineup tomorrow afternoon. They need to win the next three games, minimum. Get to 41-40 at the half way mark.
  15. Rooting for rain tonight. Rooting for the Sox to keep losing after last night’s inexcusable loss. Make some trades for 2023 and beyond. ALCS will be Yankees and a non-Central team anyway, so let’s not lose our shit too much here. This just isn’t the Sox year.
  16. Tim Anderson is not a prototypical leadoff guy. We just have to live with it as long as he’s an elite hitter.

Goldschmidt had a 46-gamer. Nice streak for our guy. Hope he stays with the organization the next few years and we get to see him on the south side.
  18. And with that, I’m sorry I even mentioned it. People suck. Happy 4th.
  19. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they postponed tonight’s game because of the shooting/active shooter situation. It would be justified.
  20. He was up last week. He’s 2-5 in three games with SF.
  21. I’d be satisfied if the Sox are 54-50 a month from now. 16-11 the next 27…minimum.
  22. Gotta like a 4-2 west coast trip. Now it’s time to come home and at least go 5-2 this week, and 4-4 on the road next week before the break. Hopefully better.
  23. Guardians walk off the Twins. Sox could have a lot of say in reducing the win total it will take to get the 3-seed. Get healthy. Stop sucking. Win games.
