  1. Oh, I’ll say it…winning the AL Central means nothing this year. You have to win the division, and then a best-of-3 at home. Until they do that, it’s a bad season. And even if they win those two extra games, you have to get by the Astros again, which is unlikely. 2022 is not the Sox year.
  2. There’s no venom on my part toward TA. I’m just calling it like I see it based on watching baseball over the years. If he had to get it out, he could have stayed in the box, kept his head down while talking and told the ump “that was high”- even though that was a borderline first pitch of the at bat. Once TA starts walking toward him, he’s in trouble. Once he says the magic words, he’s gone. And once he gets in the face of the ump and the brim of his helmet makes contact with the ump, he’s suspended. Three games seems fair based on the incident, and especially since he’s done this before. The punishment was warranted.
  3. Give me a fucking break about being targeted or over punished. Absolutely deserved three games.
  4. True. I’m just frustrated with this season, these players, and how there was no urgency at all on Day 1.
  5. It would be nice/cool/interesting/sad if the Sox, Twins, Guardians are all 52-49 after this weekend.
  6. One can only hope they’re both gone next year. Yes, I know unpopular opinion, but they both suck.
  7. Paul Sorvino, 83 Tony Dow, 77 (not dead yet) Rest in Peace
  8. It could happen. Probably would need Robert back on Friday, which would be nice for everyone.
  9. Anything less than 12-7 is bad. I’ll look at it this way… the Yankees, Astros, Mariners, Blue Jays, and Rays all get 88+ wins. The Twins and Sox stay under 88, so the season series winner makes it, and the other goes home. The Twins win 4 of the final 9 games with the Sox, securing the tie-breaker. That would mean for the Sox to get to 87, and the Twins to only get to 86, the remaining games (not including h-t-h) would have to be: Sox 34-23 and Twins 30-27 So yeah, let’s get some wins in bunches now.
  10. Great hustle with two outs— major league effort.
  11. Any loss is a good loss until August 2. Don’t give Hahn any wise ideas of contending for a championship.
  12. One day after the break, I’ve lost interest again. Win, lose…I don’t give a shit. There won’t be an AL Central team alive on October 12th anyway.
  13. That’s probably a wrap on the Montgomery streak. Had a shot to walk a couple times tonight, but not to be.
  14. Montgomery facing a decent lefty. No shame in a 50-game streak ending after the break, but it would cool if it continued.
  15. RIP Dwight Smith, 58 His son was in spring training camp with the Sox.
  16. Going to take 42 wins, including 5 vs the Twins. Sox and Twins play each other 6 of the final 9 games of the season. Also remember, if the Sox and Twins tie but have a lower win total than the 6-seed, there is no tie breaker game. The team that wins the season series wins the division. The other team is eliminated. Sox would have to go 6-3 the final 9 vs the Twins. I’m keeping the Guardians out of this for now.
  17. Saw an interview with Hendriks. He wants relievers who haven’t pitched in AS games to get in before him. He’s not really looking to pitch tonight unless he has to.
  18. Ha! I thought he was a lefty based on some pictures I saw.
  19. When I saw the pick, I immediately thought of you.
