Tony will be taking an advisor role after the season. They know it would be a bad move for him to return as manager. Hopefully he wants that for himself too so it’s not a huge deal that lingers far into the offseason. Hopefully five weeks from today which is his 78th birthday, he announces the next day is his last game managing.
Jake Lamb homer for the Mariners.
Guardians staring at a 4-game sweep tomorrow. Wouldn’t be the end of the world for them as they finish with 24 out of 36 at home. They’ll still win 20 games which will be enough.
<Jose Ramirez does Jose Ramirez things>
I’m just assuming the AL postseason teams are going to stay the same the last 6 weeks of the season. Astros-Yankees-Guardians stay 1-2-3. Rays-Blue Jays-Mariners 4-5-6 in some order, but the Orioles, Twins, and White Sox never catch anyone.
Sox definitely need to go 9-1 the next 10. Ok, maybe 8-2 would be good enough. Just assuming they have to get to 88 wins, so 25-13 the rest of the season. Stranger things have happened and we’re this close to the end. Might as well hope they turn into the 2007 Rockies.
