Min and Cle are playing 5. Two Saturday and Monday afternoon. Probably best realistic outcome is 2-3 for Cle and Sox sweep the Tigers. Then Cease beats the Guardians on Tuesday. Both teams 78-70 with 14 left.
Guardians play 6 home games in the next 100 hours or so. At that point, the three AL Central contenders will have 15 games left, and the math will be real easy. And chances are, we won’t care by Monday afternoon, ha.
I tried to stay optimistic there would be a positive swing in the standings before the weekend, but it’s not happening.
Sox elimination # will be 14 if they lose on Thursday.
Makes sense for Cleveland to set their schedule how they see fit so the last 15 games are how they want them. They may have to eat a couple games between now and the end of the 5-game Twins series.
It would, but also I don’t want hear any complaining about how unfair it is either. They did it that way this year because the backup should be a wildcard spot. Since it’ll be lower than the 6-seed…shut up and go home.
There’s 3 weeks left. I don’t care if he comes back this season because I don’t think it matters at this point. Just retire after the season. That’s all I ask.
Magic Number on each other:
Guardians on Sox - 21
Sox on Guardians- 26
Games left- Cle 24/Sox 21
Guardians magic number goes down by 3 next head to head win vs Sox
