10/2- Sox at Padres, 3:10

Lynn vs Snell

Padres magic number for 6-seed is 1 on the Brewers. They play at 1, so the Padres may clinch mid game.

5-seed magic number on the Phillies is 3.

Finish strong White Sox, get ready to rock n roll next season.

As soon as the Padres clinch, they should lose as much as possible to get on the other side of the bracket as the Dodgers. I’m starting to understand why teams with higher seeds should be able to choose an opponent. It shouldn’t be a better thing to be a 6-seed than a 5-seed.

I've been thinking the first round series should be 3 vs 5 and 4 vs 6. Your incentive to finish 4th instead of 5th is getting to host in the first round, and your incentive to finish 5th instead of 6th is avoiding the #1 seed in the second round.

Will the team hold a memorial ceremony for Bologna on Monday?

Did Bologna get fried, too?

Go Bares.

Moncada now 0 for 11 with 9 strikeouts vs. Snell. Why he is batting second is anyone's guess, but Cairo can't be the guy making out the line up next year.

This is the game one might expect the Sox to just go through the motions to get it over a quickly as possible.

Minnesota not exactly pushing the Sox down the stretch but a sweep to end things wouldn't be a total shocker, either.

I thought they already had enough of those starting in April instead of waiting for the schedule to get easy or it's still early.

Yoan bats 7-8 for everyone else. Don't get it.

I guess that would depend on the everyone else on the team.  He might be bench material.

This inning is a perfect example of why the Sox don’t score more runs.  Lead off double, long fly out, medium fly out… no advance.  Corpseball 2.0

Padres will probably clinch a wild card spot today and the Sox are gonna be forced to watch.

At least they weren't the usual weak grounders.

Brewers down 2-1 going to the 9th

…and now going to the 10th

Engel’s defense has completely cratered

How that can be a double is beyond me.

Engels defense has been his  one main asset and now that is unreliable.

I don't think he is healthy.  He sure doesn't look it.

DJ called Pollock out for not tagging, said he needed to go there. He is the only player I dislike on the team (Adam Dunn and David Wells on previous teams).

Elvis Andrus will finish with a higher White Sox bWAR than Tim Anderson (1.6 through Saturday vs. 1.3 for Anderson) despite playing nearly double the number of games (Tim 79, Elvis 39 plus the last four games).
