Jesus.

OK. Sure.

Seems unnecessary.

Popeye, Colas, & Montgomery in the same lineup is going to be fun.

Seems a bit rushed, hes been struggling a bit lately

If they want him playing in the AFL it makes sense to do it now, get a taste of AA for a few weeks. But yeah it does feel very accelerated for sure.

Hopefully they didn’t promote him because Popeye is hurt. Doubt they would rush someone even if he is injured though.

I'm thinking that they just want him to go to the AFL.

Seems aggressive, but 23 games left in AA isn’t going to ruin him. Good luck to the kid!

I used to love accelerating prospects, but this seems very rushed...Especially in his first full season...AFL on top of this seems way over the top

Maybe they are thinking he could be in Chicago midyear if Moncada isn't producing at 3B.

He's at 123 wRC+ so he's holding his own in High A. It will be a steep adjustment this quick but that's OK it's just getting a few weeks of work and then AFL.

This more than anything confirms for me that Josh Harrison is getting picked up.

Sox are gonna have Montgomery, Sosa, Popeye — and to a lesser extent Romy and Yolbert — duke it out like they did with TA, Semien, Yolmer and Micah Johnson.

Harrison will be Jimmy Rollins.

You get a promotion! You get a promotion! You get a promotion! You get a promotion! You get a promotion!

You forgot Saladino…

This sounds like one major component of their plan for 2023 selling season tickets, lol…Colas and Montgomery, The Next Wave or at least slight water disruption.

Nah he came a few years later

I just remember we had 4-5 plausible SS’s when he was around but almost none of them were capable of being regulars.

Leury Garcia had to have been one of them, and Yolmer.  Micah was never going to be anything but second base because of his arm.

Guess on some ways they were the bridge from 2013-2015 to the later gen rebuild group.

Looking at B-Ref...Leury was in there.

And for what it's worth on my end, I'm bundling everyone together into a SS/2B group. It always felt like TA had the inside track on SS.

Yeah I actually don’t mind this. Similar moves done with Sosa/Rodriguez if memory serves. He was certainly going to start in AA next year, I like giving him a taste of it to know what to work in over offseason.

This is wild. Quite a few names going to Birmingham.

Uh.

That's most likely where he would be starting next April, so really no big deal here.
