  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 11:33 AM) Chris Beck gave up his first runs of the season. Demoting him to Kanny isn't going to fix him. He needs to go back to Instructionals in AZ, or be taken aside and given some personal, mechanical attention. Daily. For a while. I was just thinking the same thing.
  2. Hawk will be on MLB Now on Thursday to discuss his love of Sabremetrics.
  3. Hawkins 0-2, 2 K's, error. How long? How long must we sing this song?
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 11:15 AM) Biggest Offenders of trying to buy a championship this off-season: Dodgers, Angels and Blue Jays combined 25-34 record. Love it. I'm definitely rooting for the Angels and Dodgers to fail. Blue Jays had players they could trade, and the Marlins took them. I wouldn't say I'm rooting for them, but I would want Buehrle to do well.
  5. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130424 Day games. Beck starting. Hawkins back in the lineup. Beck's got an ERA. Hawkins made an error.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) That goes for just about every hitting prospect the Sox have. Are hitting numbers down throughout the minors? Good question. They seem to be teaching ultra-aggressiveness. I think I've heard Buddy Bell mention this. I know Jeff Manto hates walks. It's a mess.
  7. Just for giggles, why not lead off Gillaspie? Maybe go: Gillaspie, Keppinger, Rios, Konerko, Dunn, Ramirez, Danks, Flowers, De Aza Just mix it up a little.
  8. DeMichele--might want to start hitting, any day now
  9. Coats 2-2, hitting .389 at Kanny.
  10. I'm rooting for Zaleski to get a call this year. That would be a nice story.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 05:56 PM) Mental break for Courtney, per the Dash directly. So that's step 2. 1. Drop him down in the lineup 2. Sit him down for a couple days 3. Move him to Kannapolis, where he should have been to begin with.
  12. Yeah, they did the right thing even if they could have started at 9 or something. Looks like the Tigers/Royals are in a delay. I don't know why they're even trying. edit: they called it. 17 postponed games in the last 14 days.
  13. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130423 Starters- Zaleski, Snodgress, Bassitt, Cose
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) They just played in Colorado with the first pitch temp at 23 degrees. Crazy April.
  15. Charlie Leesman chose free agency over the Rangers.
  16. I could be wrong, but by 8 tonight, we could be wondering why they didn't play. But I guess making more money later in the year is more important.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) Comiskey Park Hitmen ‏@CPHSox 6m Former #WhiteSox Pitchers starting today: Bartolo Colon for the A's, Jon Garland for the Rockies and Clayton Richard for the Padres. FYI. Sweaty Freddy is facing Charlotte tonight.
  18. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 12:09 PM) No way this happens btw. Well, yeah. That's why this slow start basically has ended their season before May.
  19. Yeah, we're pretty much at the mercy of what we're seeing until mid-June. They either turn it around fast, or just stop watching.
  20. If you know how much snow Minneapolis got, this is pretty impressive... https://twitter.com/Twins/status/326722935836520448/photo/1
  21. If the Sox go 42-26 from here to July 8, all is forgiven. You can't count on them being a second half team playing the Tigers 19 times the final 75 games. That's why this slow start is important, and it does matter.
  22. Rongey caller saying Hawkins should come up. Talk about not knowing what's going on. wow.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) YIKES Heading toward 1998-1999. Hey, they made their bed.
