  1. Royals may get weathered out the next three days. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox were playing a doubleheader on Sunday or Monday.
  2. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ May 1, 2013 -> 03:25 PM) Would anyone prefer Purcey to Heath? I prefer Ommogross to Heath but now that both are up Heath seems pretty useless. Purcey has a 3.29 ERA with 14 K's, 4 BB in 13.2 innings. Take away his innings against Norfolk and he has a 0.00 ERA, 13 K's, 2 BBs in 10.2 innings. I know it's just AAA stats but in any case, Purcey (lefty) > Heath (righty). That move may be around the corner. Maybe they feel like more righties in the pen match up better against the Rangers. I can't see them going with just one lefty in the pen for too long.
  3. You know your team is in trouble when you make seven roster moves in the first month. Not that this wasn't overdue. Unfortunately Omo had a rough April too.
  4. They needed 50 wins by July 8. The only thing that's changed is one of the rain out games will be played after July 8. 49-38 on July 8 or bust. That means they have to go 39-23 starting today. Good luck, and hurry back Danks, Floyd, Viciedo, and Beckham. And since there is no catch-all, I'll put this here...the Sox may be seeing really bad weather Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Hopefully they get the game in Thursday night. Then they may be landing in snow in KC Friday morning. I doubt they'll play Friday. Then Saturday still looks rainy in KC. Crazy year.
  5. 48 hours from now, it'll be in the 40's and possibly raining in Arlington. KC looks cold and rainy too Friday and Saturday. Bad year for weather.
  6. Welcome to the suck fest, Casper.
  7. And another Tigers quality start. If they get their bullpen figured out, 100 wins isn't out of the question.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/3293348...6128384/photo/1 Wise replaces Danks (knee)

    Digging Semien's season so far. 2-4, 2 BB
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 05:06 PM) They're the weakest basically every year. It's never too early to make that prediction. All divisions are weak. And pointless.
  16. Danks will start for Birmingham on Thursday at 7:05.
  17. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 04:46 PM) Well if you're going "on pace" every other division leader would be on pace to finish with a better record than KC. And some of the second and third place teams would as well since they all have better records than most AL Central teams. It's just very early to know that the AL central will be considered weak. There may be three weak teams, but two 90 game winners. These are the standings I look at until mid-August when the unbalanced schedule kicks in. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings/_/group/5
  18. Tekotte optioned to AAA. Move on Tuesday. Casper Wells?
  19. When the season started, if you would have said they'll go 4-2 at home to start and split with the Blue Jays and Rays in April, I would have thought they had a very good month. But Washington swept, and 2-3 vs Cle, and 0-2 vs Min. May looks brutal, but we'll see.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) This has all the making of 2007 with so many AAA players on the roster. This team needs to get healthy and fast. I guess, but in my opinion it's an 84-win team that may turn into a 74-win team with a bunch of injuries, and being forced to make mid-season moves. It wasn't going to be a postseason team either way, but Hawk will use the injury narrative.
  21. At least Hawk has the built-in excuse for years to come that the 2013 White Sox were snakebitten from the start.
  22. Rondon is getting his feet wet now. He still may turn out to be the tigers closer--and who knows, he may be real good. Time will tell.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) Wonder if the fact that Rios hasn't been given any extra offdays this year is catching up with him. That's a good point. After going 0-4 with 3 K's last night, I was thinking he would get today off if Wise could play. With a tough lefty like Price and runs at a premium, I can understand why he played today.
  24. Det 93-69 KC 88-74 Sox 78-84 Cle 76-86 Min 73-89 Something like that?
  25. QUOTE (Skipper @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Long ways to go in this one. Only down by 3. Care to amend that? I thought there were two outs already. Don't call it a comeback...
